Synth players, got some advice for an aspiring synth?

Post by 4000daniel1 » 25 Oct 2018, 17:58

So I've been planning on applying for quite a while now and I've been grinding medic, doctor, engineer, and RO to a point where I understand them well without staring at the wiki all the time. I've played maybe 2-3 rounds as SO and only one round as PO and MT since those jobs I enjoy quite a bit less, not played any MP at all either. So I am wondering, how good should I be at every job before I consider sending in the application? Should I be able to go through an entire round as medic without making any moderate mistake such as missing a fracture? Or should I be able to repair an APC without looking at the wiki at all? Also, what jobs do you feel like you spend the most time doing as a synth?

Maybe it's kinda dumb question, I dunno. Thing is I kinda just wanna play doctor, medic, and engineer since that's what I enjoy playing (and maybe RO somtimes.) Does that mean I should just not bother applying for synth since you also need to be great at MP, MT, and SO?

Any other general advice about being a synth is also very much appreciated.

You don't have to be perfect, you just need to be confident that you could fill in every role and help the team. After that, get involved with the community a bit to be known for being reliable. That's pretty much all that's needed to apply for a synth, other than a decent story. Your quirk doesn't need to be unique, but you should have a good idea for what character your synth will be, that is separate from your main character. Worst case scenario, you will get some good feedback and will know how to re-apply.
Gaius Caelus

Often playing Researcher, Doctor, or many other ship-side roles
Amadeus the synth
Zig’Reth (The Player of Games)
Mostly droning as Xeno, OFTEN TALKING IN CAPS.
