We Have A Problem
We're the highest populated server, and I can't move every five seconds because the server. Seriously, what is causing this lag? If we want to stay at the top, then we need to fix this. If I'm given time to tab out in the middle of a fight because the game froze for 30 seconds, you're doing something wrong. This should be prioritized among the staff, seriously, this needs to be fixed.

If only there was a way to properly dispose of unwanted grime and negative entities in an immersive way..

Well, when BYOND finally fixes this shitty resource downloading thing, it will be much better already. All I want right now. I don't experience big lags unless something is blown up, SM, for example.

Re: We Have A Problem
Lag for me is minimal at most times, it has also been noted multiple times over various posts and in-game broadcasts that they are working on the lag. This post being more of a rant mixed suggestion, should have been placed in the 'Suggestions' section if you wanted something done, not in the 'General Discussion' area where it will just duplicate negative, unhelpful, and derailing comments.

Re: We Have A Problem
I agree the lag has gotten WORSE since we switched to a new server awhile back.
I remember when we first started Alpha it was really smooth.

Alpha tests also lasted for maximums of 1-2 hours when they were first starting and had player bases of around 40. Try playing in the PST or CST US Timezone 1-5AM periods and notice the drop of marines to around 40 and the large reduction of lag. This observation would make me draw a direct correlation between the 70-90 player count and the large frequenting lag spikes.Pink wrote:I agree the lag has gotten WORSE since we switched to a new server awhile back.

I don't know what alpha test you were playing but we were pushing 130players steady. This was for the test where they last all day or all weekend.

If you want to be specific I am talking about "When Alpha first started" as you said yourself. I am not talking about the Alpha tests nearing the release.Pink wrote:
