But yes, I think it's pretty clear changes need to be made.
I concur. The aliens are solid right now, but the Marines may need buffs to assist in both offensives and defences. When you're up against aliens with insta-KO weapons, regen, and bullet-resistance with just rifles and special weapons, risking being knocked out for 20-45 minutes due to wounds while the aliens can just keep on attacking, you know that there is a vital need for a rebalance.

I've been drafting something for a while now, but it wouldn't fit neatly into the regular suggestion format given its length and the breadth of topics addressed (Several long paragraphs, really). What would you suggest, dropping it there whole sale regardless, putting it in general chat or what?

Try splintering it over time so that it will be noticed. Put the most important first, then delve into the deep grit of it. Of course, wholesale's fine, just as long as it follows the format. My two cents, anyways.

Also honest question, why do the rounds that take place at 3am or later when all of 5 people are playing count into the over-all victory count?

That skews the numbers, only primetime +1 -1 hours should be counted for accurate balance

Could we possibly get an update on this win/loss ratio?

Just to see how things are going balance wise.

Rahlzel wrote:It seems to be largely because of the Marines pulling back and turtling in the Sulaco - laying mines, defenses, etc. We're trying to get the Marines to stay on the planet by making things more defensible, hence the automated turrets. Perhaps we need to move the shuttle LZ farther away to make it more difficult to retreat, or have the shuttle "break" randomly when it reaches the planet. I'm not sure yet. We're open to suggestions.
Have some sort of objective on the planet that must be defended that is essential to keep the odds in the Marines favor. Perhaps it can be a weapons area that provides them all their heavy firepower, or something that affects which side you can join. So if they lose the area, then perhaps new players can no longer join Marines and then it's nothing but aliens, aliens, and more aliens. So it's in their best interest to hold this special area.

Has anyone seen a marine win since the update? I sure haven't.

Im relatively sure, apop/UM/ Or maybe even Le Octagon, had once had a link to a statistics automatically updated with the server on marine wins and alien wins, maybe you can find that or dig it up from them and check it yourself.

I saw three or four marine wins. And yes, it is significantly less then it was.

All I can input is that you're more likely to find a marine major during lowpop hours and ayyy major during high pop.

Whoa, this is old as crap, and greatly outdated now..

... Although I wonder what the ratio is nowadays?

It's roughly 50/50 from the filedump Apop last showed on Discord.

Contrary to popular belief, aliens are as likely to win on highpop as they are on lowpop and vice versa.

This isn't true.
