Xenos doing more damage will just be a straight buff to xenos.

Marines bleeding out faster will be a straight nerf to marines.

Succumbing in any type of crit will make marines suiciding much, much easier.

I would argue that all three of these options have worse side-effects than cures.

What is a cure then, to slashing a marine so much in the leg that they can't move once they break out of the nest? Either that or make the bones harder to break.

Maybe increase blood loss from missing limbs unless they're treated? Medics can then patch up bleeding okay but if an alien slashes a host they should expect that host to die quickly before hatching as punishment for slashing?

Agree. We need some way to balance this.

Perhaps Marines should be able to succumb, or hasten the process of paincrit?

You should be able to succumb/give into the pain. As well as that faster bleed out rate. But don't make it be like you die in 1 minute, most medics aren't fast enough/smart enough to do it. (no offense)

You can't succumb from paincrit, but rather from actual crit. There is a difference, and it's a big one. Pain crit isn't that bad, whereas normal crit is. You can live through resting on pain crit, but only for a short time, then your condition eventually gets worse. And you go into normal crit.

Xeno's are not allowed to harm infected/nested hosts unless they break free and (start mowing down hive structures and xenos.) become a threat. If this occurs and you see staff on, a-help and it can be dealt with.

Nice effort, but, this is related to the harming of the hosts BEFORE they're infected or nested.

What you're complaining about is skillful alien play, doing enough damage to disable without killing.

Any solution would mean that xenos couldn't ever use an injured host, and marines would have a much easier time suiciding.

Slashing nested marines before they cause trouble is a problem. Slashing marines that eventually get infected is not, because you're doing something more difficult than just tackle hugging them.

What I mean when I say before they're infected..I mean while they're hugged before they're actually infected in order to circumvent the rules. I've said this multiple times, but people seem to like ignorning what I say.

The problem is
Xenos are following the rule by what it say
By the letter
They arent following its spirit

i mean, its not difficult, you just tackle, hug, then slash.(least thats what i have seen) i honestly think that's why some people are salty. aliens using facehuggers just for the stun time and a free kill

Well, that's literally what they do later too. There's no phase of the game where it's not a good idea to facehug for the stun and then kill, and combat balance is based on aliens having huggers, they get crushed otherwise.

Early game hug kills will likely weaken the hive

In high-pop yes, this will weaken the hive.

In low-pop no, this will strengthen your hive by giving you more ghosts since in low-pop you never even use up all your monkey.

It does feel like hugging then killing before infection can take hold is basically gaming the rules. I saw a similar case with a marine who stuffed his backpack full of welding masks to bypass the nerf to helmets in backpacks. Is it technically allowed? Yes. Is it a bit powergamey? Also yes.

This makes playing on the ground extremely awful if you're captured. I was tackled, had my legs broken (without even getting up), dragged to a nest, infected, had my hands broken (again without even struggling) and had to wait until I burst. Like, if I had a gun and was trying to fight my way out it's one thing but without even a chance to attempt escape there is 0 fun in this for the marine players. I couldn't even shoot myself with a pistol because I can't use either of my hands.

If an alien can take you down solo without the use of huggers, you just got outplayed.

I don't approve of cripping after being infected, but realistically, the first thing a marine with broken legs is going to do is suicide.

You could prevent this by preventing xenos from targeting anything but the head, but that, like every other anti-cripple solution is going to lead to more marines being killed outright. Which is fine, but I don't want to hear complaints about it from marines who think xenos exist to be killed by unrobust marines.

Just to clarify again, xenos are allowed to kill or cripple infected that fight back. Xenos are allowed to damage infected if it does not lead to their death, per the rules.

A facehugged marine will not become infected if the hugger is pulled off in time, therefore they are not infected once hugged, and as such can be hugged and murdered freely, per the wording of the rules. Once they are successfully infected, then you need to wait for them to fight back to kill, but not to cripple, again per the wording of the rules.
