Constructive, to say the least. Have any ideas on how? I'm not a dev of course, but idea's on how are appreciated. There are multiple ladders in the map that lead down and up a floor, should the devs put in more ladders?

1. Make more ladders, not one in one area.
2. Make direct next squares not be able to hold huggers/mines.
3. Make ladders indestructible.
4. Profit.

Dyne's suggestions are pretty solid. I also like the way the Halloween map handles it by having another wide same z-level entrance to the caves in the NW though in practice it's really way too far out of the way to be that useful. Though I would add the suggestion of not having any constructions of either alien or marine kind on ladder or adjacent squares. Grilles and resin doors can be equally effective for camping with active xenos/marines around.

I hope I'll not ever see this on the server, because it's OVERLY simple counter.

My ideas:
1)Ability to peek down and upstairs to see whats there.
2)Ability to throw stuff (nades and flares obviously) up/downstairs

sorry, someone needed to say that

going down and up the ladder is always a threat for marines and aliens. It is pretty fair: aliens can place huggers, and marines can set up other kinds of traps

Also considering if a marine or alien goes down/up a ladder and walks right into a group of the enemy, GAME OVER MAN, GAME OVER!

I think being able to shift click to peek down or up the ladder would be a nice feature. Would allow for smarter play in general.

It's not so much that everything needs to be nerfed, but stuff without counterplay tends to be annoying and frustrating. Like spawning in from cryo into a no-oxy environment. It's 'fair' now that breaching is allowed, but it's not really fun because as a player you can't do anything about it. The shift-click to look up and down ladders would be very nice since it would allow for some sort of response on both ends.

like if the players at the bottom of a ladder another player was peeking down, they would get a message saying "you see movement at the top/bottom of the ladder, but it vanishes before you can see what it is", would be funny if marines thought other marines peeking down the ladder were aliens.

I like this one, means you would have to be wary about loitering near ladders too long.

Simple=doable. We already have a code solution for Sulako floor not to deploy mines.
No need to re-invent the wheel all the time.
