Re: NEW WIKI PAGE - MARINE RANKS!
As a medical professional who has worked on a military base, I'd like to chime in regarding medical. I was a civilian under the supervision of a senior officer working along side some o-3s and o-4s. I think it would be reasonable to have the CMO be a military officer and the other doctors be civilians, but the current military doesn't have civilians at the highest point of medical support. Then again real marines use navy medical personnel, so the lore is ultimately in apop's hands.

Exactly. I did it, the way I thought would best fit the server and my overall ideas on lore.

That's fair, I just really like the feel of a ship with military doctors.

Re: NEW WIKI PAGE - MARINE RANKS!
Well think of it, the engineer supports can tell marines where they can't go, the cargo supports (yes even CTs) can tell marines what they can't have, and doctors have power over anyone on the ship when they are injured, even the CO.Dyne wrote: Again. I think he means that, in their respective domains and in the chain of command the supports generally have more weight to throw around.

I play CT/RO quite a lot, RO is well positioned to take command, CT isnt, trust me.

Also CL being in the succession at all is pretty iffy, based on rules:
He is not even a marine of ANY kind.Corporate Liason You are NOT part of command staff

Technically, they "sold" the ship to the marines...

Re: NEW WIKI PAGE - MARINE RANKS!
You could argue the Liason has some potential leverage with the Commander over the ship's more unique features (FTL drive and whatnot), which might give a RP way for a Liason to carefully throw their weight around, but otherwise the Liason should not have any official power over anyone on the ship.

Re: NEW WIKI PAGE - MARINE RANKS!
The Liason is sort of a non-antag antag. He's not MEANT to cause damage or problems on the ship, but he's there to provide oversight and ensure that any W-Y assets are protected. All the maps ever, will probably be Weyland facilities, or places of weylands interest. the BEST thing for a W-Y to do, is send a message with the fax as soon as he can, to get either "orders" or a mission. If he doesn't get one, best thing to do is send frequent reports until he get's someones attention. Things such as "We've arrived, here's the situation, will continue to report" or "The marines have deployed command seems competent/incompetent, will continue to observer". The people who do stuff like that and RP as good Liasons, are the people who end up with interestng missions such as "eliminate this survivor" or "Sabotage this thing", usually in response to supporting W-Y objectives. The people who ask for gardening supplies or bullshit, typically get ignored (sometimes they even receive poison paper).

Re: NEW WIKI PAGE - MARINE RANKS!
Apop, I don't know what country you served in, but MPs in US armed services definitely wouldn't put Staff Sergeants on basic patrols of a Navy/Marine vessel. Even Lance Corporals for the basic Sec forces is a stretch. If you want an MP as a staff, make a Security Chief position or give them an LT, but having a Squad Leader taking orders from a cop is ludicrous, in a real military organization they wouldn't even be in the same chain of command, marine squads, cargo, medical and police would all have their own heirchy with command/bridge personnel over all of them, not each department stacked ontop of each other in the coc.
