Re: Upcoming RP guidelines (Preview and discussion)
I don't comment on things usually, but personally I don't see a need for age limiting. As MamuelMamington said, sure it may be a bit unrealistic but that can be good as well as bad. Unique is something that can be both good and bad and I feel like theres no need to police the RP that much for fear of everyone just becoming the same. Sometimes less is more, and that is one of the times I believe that. My vote would be no for a character age limit, but perhaps yes for an account age limit. New accounts should not be joining in as COs or XOs when they don't know what to do.

Yeah, he's completely right. Everyone knows there weren't female soldiers in the Aliens movie.WyattH wrote:I don't think we should allow women in the USCM it's really lore breaking to have women soldiers.
I think the age restrictions could be more loose on sulaco staff though since those are higher tier ranks it would make sense for most of them to be older than the standard marines.
Here's my source: http://avp.wikia.com/wiki/Jenette_Vasquez
Also further proof, as you can see in the picture, there are NO female USCM members.
And here it is again, in case it doesn't load. http://imgur.com/l3g0aMP

I'm pretty sure those aren't females, they don't have floorlength neon colored hair like the females on CM

Yeah I would like a guideline on how to treat cloning in RP, because is seems like death doesn't really matter, unless you know, the body is lost completely.

Re: Upcoming RP guidelines (Preview and discussion)
This is one of those things that, yeah, we COULD enforce... But that'd put a damper on what the players are allowed to do as far as character creation goes. I'm willing to say "Who gives a shit?" and let them have their neon green hair that goes down to their back. It's not harming anyone else in any form, and sometimes people do this for a slightly meta reason, so they can pick out their character much more easily in a crowd. Makes gameplay easier...WyattH wrote:I'm pretty sure those aren't females, they don't have floorlength neon colored hair like the females on CM
I don't care. It sometimes makes it easier for the player to have distinguishable features. And it's a part of character creation. As long as they aren't sixty years old but for whatever reason fit enough to be a marine, I don't give a damn if they've got glowing rainbow hair that floats, like out of some childrens cartoon with little magical horses.
Also, forgive the salt if you tasted any. I am in a fuck-load of pain right now and it's really fucking hard to concentrate. Yay wisdom teeth.

As a doctor:Durper wrote:Yeah I would like a guideline on how to treat cloning in RP, because is seems like death doesn't really matter, unless you know, the body is lost completely.
Clone the patient, make sure they're completely healthy. Then inform the patient that they were cloned, don't let them see the body, only give them the details if they ask.
As the patient:
Probably react with "Oh my god... I-I died?" or something. Something that lets people know that you care, that you're human, but don't break down into a depression phase unless you can afford to. If you do, other marines will just ignore it because "lel we're pawns we shoot guns and die for fun!" so trying to start an RP based on any kind of emotion probably won't fly in CM. Most of the marines don't have emotions.

Another thing that could be enforced or allowed - ranks make good RP, and the military technically runs billet over rank, meaning if you have a medic who is a sergeant and a squad leader who is a sergeant, the squad leader still holds power over the medic because of the billet difference. Billet over rank. Its a huge yet simple concept that would allow ranks to be RPd out much more often.

Re: Upcoming RP guidelines (Preview and discussion)
I'm not using that as a guide for that at all, its about players choosing their ranks themselves. I don't follow that guide when it comes to ranks, not to mention Medic used to be Sgt. which is slightly more appropriate in my book anyway as Medics have rank but don't actually lead. Not to mention using billet (aka job) over rank is how many things operate. Someone who is billeted as a Squad Leader will always have authority over a higher rank who is billeted under them such as a specialist or medic. It allows players to get creative and unique with their ranks such as having Pfcs, Lance Cpls, Sgts, Staff Sgts and all these other ranks without messing up the control each job has. SL is always over Squad members, BO over SLs and so forth, however you can have a character with the rank of Staff Sgt. playing as a medic, engineer or specialist and be working under a player who wants their rank as a Sgt. simply because Billet over Rank dictates that the Squad leader is always in charge and pulling rank can not happen due to the billet of the Squad Leader being higher than that of the Medic, Engineer and Specialist. Many people play their characters and set their ranks themselves without following the guide and to me that makes it much more entertaining and immersive, as not everyone in the same billet is going to be the same rank, it just doesn't work that way. I go by the ranks that people give themselves over that any day, for example, my two medic characters are sergeants, they were created when Medic was Sergeant and I have no interest or intent on changing their rank after them already being known as sergeants.LordLoko wrote: The squad medic is not a sargent, it's a corporal.

Re: Upcoming RP guidelines (Preview and discussion)
You probably noticed I deleted the Marriage discussions in this thread that were made. That's because:
"Fuck you, we resolved that already in a different thread". Additional comments about marriage in THIS THREAD and not the DISCUSSION THREAD will result in warns/bans. I'm tired of beating a dead horse with a stick, the decision was MADE, and that's not changing.
And for the guy who posted the news articles, I notice those are "deployments" were support/command elements in super-secure locations. Not, front-line FOBs or ships, so your entire argument is invalid.
Finally, in case there's still doubt:
MARRIAGES ARE NOT ALLOWED, AND THAT WILL NOT CHANGE.
