Friendly fire

Post by Ninjah! » 16 Jan 2016, 14:44

*THERE IS MORE SALT IN THIS POST THAN THERE IS IN THE DEAD SEA*

Every round, and I mean every, single, round so far I played as a marine going into the field I got friendly fired into either crit or near crit. Am I the only one who thinks this should at least be slightly less punishing? I know you can work with formations and such to avoid it but honestly, on the colony map, that's just impossible.

Well I mean, Its perfectly possible for people to create methods to prevent ff and then post a guide for it. Honestly whenever I see friendly fire happen its because someone walks into someone else line of fire. Pretty easy to avoid with some awareness.

Every, single, round so far I played as a doctor staying on the sulaco I fixed marines who were friendly fired into crit or near crit. Am I the only one who thinks this should be idiot-proofed? I know Apophis said "I will not idiot-proof the sulaco" But this is getting frikken ridiculous. Make Friendly Fire even MORE punishing so marines learn the lesson and STOP SHOOTING EACHOTHER LIKE IDIOTS.

Try to regulate a bunch of scrubs all eager to shoot something. Either you're on help intent and get swapped into that stuff or you're on harm intent and everyone pushes you around and hates you like shit as you push your fellow marines into the warm hands of the aliens. It's neigh impossible to do that with a mutliple squad assault on terrain like the caves.

More of a suggestion, implement a minor screenshake when marine gets hit by bullets, similar to recoil. Hopefully this increases people's awareness that they got shot. I have seen many marines with tunnel vision, who just love to run into the lanes of fire, maybe because they didn't notice the hail of bullets. They get shot at repeatedly and still wants to push forward with a death wish, then get all salty and blames others for getting shot at...
