Alien's lack of larva.
I'm not sure if I'm the only person to notice this, But recently, the aliens have been lacking the larva reserves they used to have. More often then not, you'll have a hard time actually becoming a xeno after death.
I was wondering if it was because xenos were just killing there hosts more, Maybe there has been an increase in xeno players, or whether the amount of monkey-like hosts was decreased during the map change that changed the tunnels?
If it's neither of these, anyone have a clue whats up?

All the aliens are murdered before they can infect anyone
They recently nerfed their speed into the ground

I haven't actually noticed too much of a speed change for the runner castes, which I tend to play.GGgobbleCC wrote:All the aliens are murdered before they can infect anyone

And it's not like the aliens are losing. They're often just attacing the sulaco, with no larva or hosts at all, and winning said attacks too.

Re: Alien's lack of larva.
From what I've seen, xenos haven't been killing their hosts more. It's just that more people are becoming xenos during late round, when it's obvious the aliens are winning. So, all the larva get gobbled up.
Not sure if that's actually it, that's just what I believe is happening.

Also, if runners don't bother retrieving any monkeys what happens is that marines discover poor adorable larva in the jungle and then brutally slaughter them. But I do think there's a slight increase in xeno bloodthirstiness as well as more people joining xeno now.

I only kill a host if there are too many hosts around for me to drag the host away safely, or if the host is trying to escape/kill sisters in the nest. Source: someone who almost always plays Xeno. John "Spicy" peppercorn.
Alot of aliens that get ded, get the larva that are available. Especially since the Larva Timer was reduced to 5 minutes instead of 10.

Re: Alien's lack of larva.
Yesterday round. I was alien. Suddenly, chat was overran by messages of rying larvas. In 1 minute, 9 SSD larvas died in jungle. I was shocked, though, it was totaly aliens fault and problem. Comclusion: after infecting, bring host to safe place.

The reason infected hosts get left in the jungle is because there's no quick way to transport them. Either you drag them, one by one, all the way back to the hive, or you swallow them and find a tunnel and risk killing the host.
You have two choices: Fucking slow, annoying, but safe way. Or fast, but dangerous way. There's no middle ground there.

Give a buff to Runners and Hunters so that they can drag stunned targets at near full speed. This makes them able to quickly move infected hosts back to a hive, and also can make snatching and grabbing a infected/stunned Marine a viable (more so) tactic.

I'd love to be able to grab a marine and drag them through a tunnel back to the hive.Steelpoint wrote:Give a buff to Runners and Hunters so that they can drag stunned targets at near full speed. What about adding a % chance that any mob which stands up and is being dragged has a chance to fall over?Wickedtemp wrote: I'd love to be able to grab a marine and drag them through a tunnel back to the hive.

Eh, no. Pounce, tackle and spit is enough.Wesmas wrote: What about adding a % chance that any mob which stands up and is being dragged has a chance to fall over?

Not really. Tackle has such a low chance to actually work, you have to CONSTANTLY spam it to get any results at all. As for spit, it'll keep them down for like 1-3 seconds. That's not going to do shit when marines can outrun Xenos.Jeser wrote: Eh, no. Pounce, tackle and spit is enough.

-1 Fuck no. This was what it was like Pre-Alpha and it was a cancer, Hunters and Runners would trip disarm a marine, drag them away from the squad and spam tackle and slash marines till they were in crit, leave them to die and go get another one, hunters could literally wipe an entire squad of marines without using a single facehugger, and there was no counter to unless the marines landed every single shot against him with a shotgun-pump macro.Steelpoint wrote:Give a buff to Runners and Hunters so that they can drag stunned targets at near full speed. What server are you playing on? Marines don't move faster than Xenos unless you're a spitter or T3, who have such better stun abilities that it's not a big deal. Plus weeds and sticky resin, which any competent hivelord/drone should be spreading everywhere, grind marines to halt that it's hardly even a challange for a hunter to tackle spam a marine back to the hive while his squad tries to stomp their way through the weeds at walking pace.
