Does the general playerbase think crushers are overpowered
I really wanna end this crusher op talk, but the only way the devs are gonna change anything is if people tell them because I assume they don't actually play that much, yet alone the specific caste
Do you actually agree that they are too strong? No brainer pick t3 at the moment

Re: Does the general playerbase think crushers are overpowered
Nope. I can take an isolated crusher down with just a pulse rifle.
They aren't over powered.
It's the person who makes the crusher over powered,is a good player.
If the person isn't,it ain't.

As there are Crushers and Carriers, there are SADARs, Mines, and Scoped Rifles. Etc.

Re: Does the general playerbase think crushers are overpowered
I'm happy enough leaving them as strong as they are, and their charges being as powerful, but when I use the stomp mechanic it just feels like cheating.
That's the only thing I'd change I guess.

They're not strong, just annoying to fight. If they stomp constantly, they can win, but i've taken crushers with knives/machetes and single'd them with just my rifle. It's not that big of a task.

Slight nerf to hp If anything otherwise you could kill one with a average squad with you.

Crushers ARE decently OP in the right cirumstance. They have basically no downsides to play if the player is decent. They can pretty much infinetely charge on or off weeds, the stomp goes through walls and fortifications, more or less invincibru without an entire squad..whereas a Ravager can be taken down solo if the person is good enough. I mean, Crushers can to, but only if the Crusher is shit.

Yes, they have no counter, move faster than a runner while they are charging, they have the same damage as a hunter and on top of that, they have an AOE stun that requires no skill to use it.

More or less this. They're impossible to kill in the open, really. They can outrun bullets better than runners >_<. Might as well rename the Chargers.username123 wrote:Yes, they have no counter, move faster than a runner while they are charging, they have the same damage as a hunter and on top of that, they have an AOE stun that requires no skill to use it.

This isn't true. Charging for a few seconds drains plasma quickly, but crushers also regen very quickly.Mitchs98 wrote:They can pretty much infinetely charge on or off weeds.
As for the question, I think they should lose their stomp ability. Crushers are definitely the strongest aliens if played by a competent player. Carriers are super cheesy, but they have paper thin armor and rely on eggs--crushers only need weeds to be effective.

Re: Does the general playerbase think crushers are overpowered
Oh? The time I played crusher they didn't. I've definetely never seen it be an issue for any crushers I've fought at all. It must be null at best with the sheer amount of speed they have, really.\N wrote: This isn't true. Charging for a few seconds drains plasma quickly, but crushers also regen very quickly.

I'd settle for stomp being removed. It's op asf and when used correctly is worse than a Queen's screech. Even a Praetorian's or Boilers acid/neuro isn't as bad as it is, even that gets stopped by walls and things.

Re: Does the general playerbase think crushers are overpowered
Well. My honest opinion seeing how I actually know how they function. Health. Etc and being one of the first crushers to ever walk the server back as one of the testers. I can say they are quiet unbalanced. Once you know how they function and how to play as one they can be extremely overpowered. They normally are used for destroying defenses... But they can do it... To well.. The only thing they need is approximately a 50 health reduction and their stomp to have a smaller AOE. They are a bit to good at destroying defences due to their massive AOE stomp granting more than enough time for aliens to swarm and over run a firing line the marines had set up.

This. Only the Queen should have an AoE stun.\N wrote:

They're not OP they're perfectly fine. I play all castes I don't just book it for the Crusher. There's no reason to.

Re: Does the general playerbase think crushers are overpowered
Problem with xenos is..
Any caste is OP if youre a good xeno player.
Aliens are so heavily based upon player skill.
Where as the max potential of a marine is limited upon their weapons.

Re: Does the general playerbase think crushers are overpowered
crushers are overpowered to shit. anybody who's played with one for an amount of time can see that. All xeno classes have some kind of disadvantage, except crushers. they're faster than anybody else, they can take more bullets than anyone else, they excel at attacking, they excel at defending, they do well in open spaces, they're ridiculous in closed spaces. With a bit of familiarity being a crusher you're basically invincible. a SADAR is literally the only hard marine counter to crushers and a good stomp deals with that problem pretty quickly.
they used to be less tanky, they used to have a smaller stomp range. they were fine like that. make them like that again.

Re: Does the general playerbase think crushers are overpowered
Crushers are OP with their AOE attack. Praetorians and Spitters should be the only class with Stunning ability. Crushers shouldn't be stunning other than tackle.
Either that or reduce the range of the crusher's AOE to the tile immediately adjacent to the crusher.

Agreed, AOE stomp is just stupid as fuck, especially to a class that if you are decent enough (and most aliens that go crusher seem to know what to do) you can preety much be a unstoppable force of DOOM.Jackserious wrote: This. Only the Queen should have an AoE stun.

Re: Does the general playerbase think crushers are overpowered
Honestly, I think the AOE should just be re-worked. For example, charging at full momentum will give the same effect as a stomp, only in a smaller area. That's just what I think, though.

Close to balanced, but lose/tweak the stomp

Re: Does the general playerbase think crushers are overpowered
In the source, Crushers didn't have any kind of stomp/stun/screech/whatever. Whey're big, fast, and armored to all hell. I'd like to see crushers have a health boost and be completely invulnerable to small arms from the front at the expense of the AoE and their ability to carry huggers.

Nope. I've solo'd crushers.

One-round feat or a few round-feat or incompetency of a alien should not be affecting suggestionsWickedtemp wrote:Nope. I've solo'd crushers.

It's not really a one-round thing. If a Crusher charges into something and gets knocked down, if there's ANYONE nearby with a rifle who's even half competent, that crusher is dead.MrJJJ wrote: One-round feat or a few round-feat or incompetency of a alien should not be affecting suggestions

Re: Does the general playerbase think crushers are overpowered
Funny story. I once baited a marine into unloading into me after I was knocked down, only to stomp and dismember him. Crushers retain their armor even while knocked down, on that note. I've solo'd crushers before too, but it wasn't so much my skill as their lack of skill.Wickedtemp wrote:It's not really a one-round thing.
