Funny, Embarrassing, and General OMG Moments

So I was one of many witnesses to a truly amazing thing in a round earlier today.

Now I didn't see the whole thing myself but from what I heard, engineering attempted to set up the SM as normal, 1 of them got killed by the emitter, another tried to cool the rapidly-heating SM via phoron, and then everything burned. When I joined in a saw that most of the engineering sector had been superheated to 10,000 degrees Celsius (twice as hot as the surface of the sun!). From then on it seemed like everything was going okay....



Then this happened. Yes you're reading that right. 83,000 Degrees Celsius. How did it happen? I have no idea. But I must seriously congratulate the engineering team that round for managing to heat engineering to the point where it became hotter than a good number of stars in the known galaxy (if not all of them).

As a side note, engineering was 84,000 C at it's peak, and disposals was no better at 79,000 C. Make of that what you will.

Apparently, the CE lagged while setting up the emitter, and it killed him. I ran into engineering to extract the ce, and not more than a min later, hell erupted. The sudden fire and air pressure was so great, no one in the engine could escape - they were all killed and unretrievable. The had died before they could eject the BURNING core, so i had to run through to the ce's office and c4 the door, all the time getting cooked by the intense heat and being slammed around by pressure. I just managed it. While i was in medbay, another maint tech tried to get in the engine, and was sucked in and killed. this then spread some of the heat and deadly pressure to ro and the near corridor.

Anyway after a lot of messing around, aliens boarded, one ravager went up the engineering ladder and had to be gibbed because they had -50000 brute damage an were bugged. At this point the engine, disposals, and ro were all 60-80k in temp. A vote was made: should all fire doors and doors be deleted? The answer was of course, YES. and so, the wrath of the engine spread through the entire deck, killing literally everyone, xeno and marine alike. no one was spared!

I was pretty well-defended in ro (cargo tech) with some marines watching exits and turret covering us. No way aliens could kill us (also it was really atmospherically to sit there without comms and speak with others using radio).

And then i opened that door to disposal. Who could possibly knew some mt tried to save his life so he opened door from ce office to disposal, and only then died, opening the way for hellfire to spread further.

Funny story here. I was a survivor with 2 others, they had guns and i had a knife and a bat. They both died with no kills, while i killed one with a bat and survived. If only they could see me now...

1. Feweh is doing something with admin powers in the Thunderdome, misclicks, and bombs the poor Marine setting up power for Ice Colony's telecomms. We fight the whole round without radios.
2. Holy shit it's confused on the planet. We innovate RUNNERS between squad leaders! With something like ~100 Marines vs ~25 aliens, we still retreat, despite mostly holding the surface.
3. Iron Bears and Deathsquad and Alien attack, all right after another, punishing us for our cowardice. Just as the Marines are executing the last DS members, a whole party bus of aliens comes up the medbay ladder. Seriously, there were like 15 of them just rushing.

So while I was an elite ravager during sulaco assault, I charged through a series of reinforced tables and thinking that I would bounce off the barricade, I was fine, but nope, I got over the barricade and caused chaos and a TON of friendly fire towards the marines before going down.

I was playing Doctor this round and managed to kill a young (wounded) crusher. Me and some other marines were running away from the Aliens as they continued their relentless advance through briefing, cafeteria and engineering. We somehow made it to the maint straight north of escape but both doors were welded. We we re stuck in a small 1x7 space. Two crushers were coming in and killing the marines at the back. They thought they had us cornered but it was I that had them cornered. As the marine behind me died, I came out with the combat knife and started knifing away at the crusher until he died.

I wasn't lucky enough to Specialist the next round.

I was playing a CL this round. Normal RP for me - "plan to implant people, write knowledge about the Xenos, see if I can recruit a CT/RO" - and then when I prayed for the fourth or so time about Faxes, Weyland replies to me about my request for exotic magazines (AP, extended 9mm, that sort of thing). We bounce around on the subject for two or so faxes, and then they bluespace in a pack of kudzu vines, saying, "Lol have fun and we'll get you your porn mags."

Little did anyone know that the vines would end up making a fucking jungle out of my Quarters. Then I get Harry Cowper and Pyotr to do some gardening work, the tool being a flamer. When they're done, I hand Pyotr $1000, the one handling the Flamer gets 75%, and I get back to business recruiting the CT. Then the kudzu virus kicks in. This isn't any normal biological weapon, this causes minor brain damage - leading to blindness at first and eventually death. This gets so bad, that when Medbay finds out that antibiotics helps/cures the virus, the Xeno Queen reaches the console and calls down the Rasputin.

The Corporate Liaison, Bill "CIA" Willson, ends up committing suicide, his last will essentially this: "You can all take my shit off of me."

Overall staff performance? 10/10, would lash out at Ordukai and then blame Feweh even though he left the server a few minutes ago.
Overall round experience? 11/10, would be mistaken for requesting porno mags and end up getting fired over failing to managing the kudzu infestation.

EDIT: And oh yeah, the pool game of Marco Polo was resurrected by Bill. IIRC, someone shouted at him, "NO NEED TO SHOUT FOR POLO, WE'RE ALL BLIND."
