I had at least 3 memorable rounds this week but will just say one here (because I know Alex,thae or emilio took a photo of the "cult line". You will get context tomorrow)

Today I felt pretty robust despite being bad.
In the round-event of today with the marines agaisn't the UPP, I hold the god dam medbay from at 5 UPP members from 2 different fronts... USING A GOD DAM TRACKPAD. There was a point where I fought 3 UPP SOLDIERS AT THE SAME FRONT IN DIFFERENT PLACES SHOOTING AT SAME TIME.
I am impressed no by the fact of being 3 UPP soldiers shooting at same time, but rather that I was hitting then while using a track pad and frozen in place, while they didn't hit me.

While I had managed to survive the 10 or so attempts on my life, I didn't come out of it unscathed. Countless scars and wounds, and a spirit shattered like glass and a mind driven to madness, depression and paranoia.

In a way, you could say they succeeded in their mission, just not in the way intended...

For those seeking Context, I was CO of the round this happened in. All seemed to be running normally for most of the mission, but then all of a sudden a random UPP commando just appears out of no where and tosses grenades at us in our CiC, blowing up an APC and fucking us over royally, and then later blowing up our comms APC.

This would be the first of many attempts on my life, along with the many attempts to fuck over my mission. When we found and killed him, Feweh sent another, and then we killed THAT ONE, he sent another... And another... And another...

Feweh just wanted to do a minor (albeit cruel) event, where the CO would be assassinated by a UPP agent. But what started as an event turned into a furious obsession with trying to kill me, using his admin powers to covert more of my staff into UPP agents and sending them to kill me. Some almost got me, others bumbled right out the bat, but after seeing so many people turn on me, I broke ICly, and IRL I just got upset and frustrated.

By the 10th attempt on my life, I just gave up on living altogether, and even attempted suicide before finding a corner and curling up into a ball, driven insane and begging for the sweet release of death to save me from this constant torment. Never have I felt so hated before, even if it wasn't the original intent of the admin in question.

That round was a really shitty round to be CO, I'll tell you that. Hopefully next time I go CO, I won't be the staffs plaything and will get to lead without random events screwing me over constantly. Events are the spice of the game, sure, but still... CO is tough enough as is...

You got threatened. And an entire SQUAD re-deployed from the planet to save you.

People like you enough that they tightened up security enough that an admin couldn't kill you without force-converting your guards or bombing you.

I think Alpha came up thinking it was a whole squad of UPP, not a single agent. And also, I assume that people normally get really protective of their COs by default. If it was Carson, I wouldn't be surprised if he got swarmed by bodyguards the moment anyone made an attempt on his life. COs are, after all, important for marine leadership.

If there was ONE thing funny that came outta this, though, was a minor scene that both shocked and amused me.

See, at some point, I just gave up and went to my room with booze in hand, wishing to be alone in a private place to think, drink and question why bad things have to happen to me. For awhile, it seemed I was not going to leave anytime soon, but then someone asked if I could activate the pods. At this point, I go "eh, fuck it, why not?" and I leave my bedroom... A mere second after leaving my room, it exploded.

Turns out one of Feweh's Hitmen knew I was sulking about in my bedroom, and decided to ambush me by blowing a wall and throwing an explosive in at me (or at least, that is what I assumed after looking back into my bedroom and seeing a big whole in the wall). However, they were a moment too late, and by the time they blew inside, I had just left.

Had I not decided to return to the CiC to attempt to launch the pods, I would have been blown to pieces. Life is funny like that...

I was Alpha SL for that round and the moment I heard UPP boarders on comms, and then comms suddenly disappearing, I re-deployed every single Alpha marine still alive and rushed Tcomms. We got there in like 10 mins flat all the way from Engineering on Colony.

Tried to help him out some more and ended up killing a UPP spy then finally I asked him to call evac and escaped instead of dealing with aliens. Was a fun round.
