I make a pretty good Queen. Became one in the middle of a hive raid, rallied the hive, and annihilated the marine force. Had to leave before launching a counterattack, though.

And once as a Sulaco Drone, killed several people with tailstabs and ventcrawling, using the unused AI room on the bottom deck as a base.

Nowadays, I'm not a bad crusher, and I guess I broke a few Marine FOBs.

Murdering unarmed crew members is not robust. Its the same as killing an SSD marine and makes you a mass murderer/serial killer. They have to be able to put up a decent fight for you to count as robust.

You obviously didn't observed this round. He was killing fully armed marines for one and four-five shots would have had him dead. No weeds were anywhere on the sulaco hunter, but he put a dent in the population.

Anyway, I feel like I'm pretty robust, if anything I'm a good motivator and enabler for people to get robust. Playing only xeno and understanding the mechanics of marines will do that to you though.

Nah I was watching. He caught the marines solo and he was macroing really hard. It was pretty cool to watch but I'm still salty that he killed me in the dark while I just put the head on the other doctor to clone.

what, is this a "pat myself on the back" thread akin to what the marines have? wew lads, 'pparently it is, oh well.

coronel is the only robust xeno player I can name, because he's getting shite done and doing it in the most fair way. jerkface yesterday had weeds and a drone, the SM went boom and some people were SSD, so go figure. he's a good player but that's not what I'd call robust, especially when it's 1v1 as an elite hunter which is an instawin. so there's that, coronel.

also no, he was macroing the travel vents and pounce. not the darkvision, buddy.

Marines use equipment (and many use a shotgun pump macro), xenos use verbs. Equipment is largely operated through hotkeys, verbs lend themselves to macros.

The idea that macros are somehow unfair is as stupid as the hotkey mode debate.

Surrealistik was a kickass Hivelord. First time as the Queen, we had a Young Crusher, Ancient Hunter, and an Ancient Hivelord (Surr). I don't know the Ckeys of the others.

The Crusher and Hunter eventually died, but not before infecting several marines each. This left me (Queen) and Surreal (Hivelord). The Hive was absolutely kickass, and the forward nests must have been downright hell to trudge through. We managed to repel, kill, and infect any attacking marines for the next half hour. We were in the Corporate Dome and the Robotics Dome, so... Kinda close to the drop-pod LZ and the marines' FOB. But yeah, the nests and hives are what I owe the xeno victory to. That, and Marines refusal to actually launch a coordinated attack effort, along with their tendency to run away all the time.

Edit: Also the fuck is with people hating on Macros? It's useful and anyone can do it, there's literally guides on the forums detailing how. Stop acting like it's abuse or an exploit.

It's especially silly because for xenos to operate at an effectiveness equivalent to what marines do, they have to use macros. without macros building is as slow as setting suit sensors, and having stomp/screech macroed is arguably essential to timing it correctly.

Xenos in general rely heavily on their verb abilities, as they don't get any equipment to use like marines, and don't have any overlay help either. I use macros so I can keep an eye on my actual plasma totals while fighting.

I was probably queen of the year 2015 when preds were in. I only had a ravager,crusher and a carrier left. Egokor played the ravager if I remembered. And I also had a hivelord aswell. I made a large fucking egg room filled with so much eggs that your whole screen was filled up, then a pred came to fuck us up (who was CJ) and failed af cuz I screeched and then Rav slashed the fuck out of him whilst Crusher stomped when he got back up. Then he tried to explode but he we heard a beepnig sound which was similar to Orbital so we ran away but only crusher got caught in it. Then CJ said it was metagaming and I was like o no.;.

Just for clarification,
1) I boarded the sualco as a young hunter on the flight up. Went from being young, to mature on the Sulaco without weeds, got shot several times to the point of almost dying, snuck back to the surface to heal, then back aboard where I became Elite and then Ancient.
2) the drone was (I think, but don't know) born of a larva from a not-braindead, but tool-less MT I facehugged, devoured, and puked up in the AI core and left to burst. I did not have weeds until after I was elite.
3) I don't have macros, just know that tapping enter the instant I click crawl through vent, and prioritizing getting my mouse to the button before i'm next to the vent, means I can get out of danger really fast, if not always knowing where I'm going to pop up.

I do think of myself as being robust, but I don't care if I am as I have plenty of fun getting my ass kicked as a xeno all the same.
