Crates for defense.

Post by limofs » 28 Jul 2016, 02:37

Got a question, when crates can be used for defense and when they cant?

Can you drag crates to positions which would allow you to defend better?

I don't believe there's anything against marines using crates for defense. I hate dealing with them because they can't be slashed or crushed.

Well, yeah, but we cant use them for all intents and purposes. I was just banned for blocking XRT with crate, when they landed in cargo. I'm not arguing ban itself, but can we be more clear when it is allowed and when it is not allowed. For example blocking maintenance with crate is allowed or not?

In general, blocking/building around places where ships land for the first time is powergaming. I've seen crates used many times before, but I wouldn't use it in the hangar or anywhere you can't build normally.

Got it, what about lets say placing several crates in a row for lets say escape corridor defense, is that ok?
And just so you know, crates-cargo, they kinda go together. That was not like I was planning or waiting for that, just spur of the moment.

Seen it before, don't believe it's an issue.

Xrt got slaughtered without any ability to fight back because of crates, as long as it just slows xenos down you're generally alright.

I was just banned for blocking XRT with crate, when they landed in cargo.
I suggest making an appeal thread about it. If XRT aliens were stupid enough to forget about acid, welp, it's their fault. For example, what if CT forgot few crates next to pod door?

They did use acid. However before that command opened armory and I got my hands on grenade launcher, which was a things that actually slaughtered them. And I dont really want to make issue out of it. Just wanted some clarifications, which is dont place crates in places you cant build, that makes sense.

This is an autistic personal opinion of a moderator that dealt with your ban. You CAN use crates as a barricade when and where you want. Plus, they all are made out of plasteel.

Once again, make an appeal, imo ban and issue itself are wrong.

Same thing applies to girders and shield generators.

If you're ever not sure, feel free to ahelp.

Well, I cant appeal it anyway, just read appeal rules and they say no appeals for 24 hour ban. So long!
And ahelping takes time that you usually dont have in a midst of battle. Worst response time was:entire round. So, heh, this is why I created this post to get general opinion, not just admin opinion.
