Alien Dismemberment

Would it make sense to be able to cut off a alien's hand or foot or something?
I mean I'm not suggesting this to be added (to be able to decap a alien or take their arm off)

Just trying to gauge interest on the topic, if you think it would be possible (in lore, in balance, in code) would you think there would there be a way to regrow limbs? Or would that be too OP?

Thoughts?

Considering xenos virtually have respawn enabled (if they aren't killing all the hosts like normal) I honest to god think dismemberment for xenus is 100% lore friendly and a viable gameplay option that should already be in the game. Hell, in lore M41As blow xenos to pulp so why shouldn't our tanky OP xenos have some sort of anti rambo clause where a single shot has a chance to permanently (within one life of course) disfigure the sprite and cause a bit of backlash. Runner caste are supposed to be alone but if a runner/hunter actually gets shot they deserve to have a leg blown off.

But that's just my opinion and in the concern of lore =/= balance I don't think it has a place on our server, as much as I wish it would.

If there was a usggestion for it i would probably support it. Besides, in my eyes it somewhat adds rp in certain scenarios. Or maybe thats just me thinking that with my silly opinions.

You get a lot of flak for being a notorious shitposter, but this post makes me question whether you're just trolling or can't tell the difference. I don't know if you're familiar with xeno mechanics, and if you are it's not coming through in your post.

It should be obvious for anyone who considered the balance implications how terrible an idea it would be to have xenos have a chance for dismemberment, because they are outnumbered, mostly melee range, and can't replace limbs. Even if they could regrow limbs, xenos cannot afford to have a key member crippled because they don't have 80 combat capable members in a round, the number is more like 10-15.

Yes and no...
I wouldn't be opposed to some xenos maybe losing their tails from a machete.. which would disable their ability to use tail attacks.

Problem is, the art needed to redo all xenos if they got de-limbed etc.

if this /was/ to be done i'd assume it would be part of a entire over haul not just like a small update.

It is a shame how complicated it would be to pull off.. Being able to chop xenos into bits would be quite satisfying if it was possible...

It would look awesome, but from a balance perspective, it'd totally fuck it up unless there were some serious balancing factors.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

lore wise it'd be fine for a xeno to lose a limb. If you look at the RTS avp Game the xenos will sometimes be crawling along the floor because a muhreen shot both of the xenos legs off. It'd probably be possible code wise. As for the balance well....it depends what side you look at it from.

Well for the marines this is a major"balance" because this sways it back to them.Marine players would call this a major "balance" update because it means they have a bigger chance of winning.Everyone loves winning and will do almost anything to better the odds of winning.However xeno players would call this a major debuff and straight up hate the system.So for the marines it'd be a massive balance thing but for the xenos....not so much
