On the question of B18

Post by Casany » 20 Aug 2016, 23:10

So, I was in a roun earlier where marines got a supply drop. I asked if standerds could use B18 and got a no. In my opinion I would assume B18 wouldn't need training to use. What are some other opinions on that though?

Well since there was the whole rule about spec equipment i think it also applies to B18 despite it just being armor.

I know that, but my question was do you think that's RIGHT? I mean, it's just armor so the whole "only specs can use it" shouldn't really apply here. That's just my opinion though

I really wouldn't question it even if its armor you gotta listen to the rules.

Like with SADARS, regular marines can use that but they cant use B18? I just think that this should be changed

Ok so maybe it doesn't make sense you cant use B18 even though its just armor i will admit it doesn't make much sense but if everyone was able to use it the moment a B18 spec goes down they are gonna loot everything he has and pretty much ruin his use as a spec since he can't get a coin.

There is a rule against taking SSD specs items or dead specs items. This would mainly be used for those rare supply drops that have B18 in them. Or there extra armor layin about. Plus, it would be fairly easy for admins to see who took your armor since it says "insert_name_here is trying to take _insert_name_here off of _insert_name_hete"

I like to think of it like the power armor from fallout(yes even 4,your character gets training in the army how to use it) in the sense you need to be taught how to use it.

You'd probably need training just to handle the fatigue you'd get from armor that is more than likely a LOT heavier than standard armor , it is 100% definitely harder to move in since your character moves slower in it.

If you've never fought in plate armor, you're going to have a hard ass time doing it for the first time. I imagine the same would apply to B18.

That, and doesn't it come with built in autoinjectors?

I'd assume you'd need training to understand all features battle-armor comes with.

They'd also probably need more intensive training to be able to wear it for the length of a mission and still move fairly quickly, not just to operate the many, many unlabelled buttons and tech within it.

I've actually thought of a b18 rework that I'll be posting later today that both emphasizes the specialist nature of it and adds some cool features.
