This is on mars? If so I love the idea that we finally have a reason to not just fly away beyond saving an empty colony. Now if we fail millions of people on the mars colonies could be slaughtered.

I'll be honnest and say that the barricades actually look perfect in the current setup. The whole map could have an art tweak, but it fits and works splendidly.
I personally feel as if the map is stable for low-pop use and I'd go as far as suggest that the exterior somehow have lightning since most of the interior is underground.
