The name proposed in dev is USS Almayer, after Almayer's Folly. It's a naming convention in the Aliens-verse to name ships after works/things from Joseph Conrad, so it seems to fit really well. I also like Manoo's suggestions.

Do we pronounce it "All-mayor" or "Ale-mire", or "Ale-mayor" or "All-mire"?

I like Alma-air, because of the alma root, meaning nourishing/kind. Like the ship is the lifeline for the marines, it nourishes them, and when it's lost, they can't survive.
