On average, how many hours are you available per week to moderate? Most days maybe to 7 to 8 hours a day.

Do you have any previous experience in being staff (not just SS13)? Have been a moderator on a few servers on Gmod sometime near 2012 to 2014

Did you play any of the previous Colonial Marine servers? Maybe? I don't know.

What are the 3 biggest servers you play on besides CM? Moslty i play CM but i sometimes played TG And Halo

Are you familiar with the chat program Slack (its use is required)? No, but im willing to lern it

Common Staff Situations:
Write a description of what you would do in each of the following situations. Do not write on the same line as the situation - use the space below it or make space as needed. Failure to do this proves your inability to follow instructions and your application will be automatically denied.

1. A player randomly shoots someone at round start and MPs have detained him.
Seems like an IC problem at this time, nothing much i would have to interfere. Maybe ask the person if it was a accident or not , depending on his answer leave it as a IC or just warn him.

2. The ship has a breach to space and a bunch of players have died or are dying as a result.
First of block off the breach, try to look at the logs and try to find if its a player made problem if so give him a day ban about it, after that respawn the dead players

3. You see a player walking around the ship naked and clearly lost.
Tell him that he shouldn't be doing these actions, if hes still continuing his or her actions warn him

4. A player is being very rude to you in Adminhelps and requesting to speak to an Admin+ staff member.
Tell him to take it up to discord or the forums if he wants to talk with an Admin+ about this situation.

5. You notice a player with a name that doesn't fit our naming rules. The player is arguing that: They've used the name for several years, no one has told them to change it before, and that they didn't know it was a rule.
First off cheack his background, if hes been warned about this or temp banned if so warn him again and keep a note of it.If still seen by that name around the server a 3 hour ban

6. You see a Maintenance Tech running around in armor and carrying a rifle. The security level is green with no threat present.
Seems like an IC issue for the MP's to handle, if no MP's are on the almayer, tell him to drop his armor and rifle

7. You see a Squad Medic performing surgery on the planet. He claims it was because there were no doctors in the FOB.
Give him a warning as hes not skilled enough to do surgery and tell him to send the marine hes doing surgery to almayer.

8. The round is stagnating. There are 30 marines and 4 aliens. The marines won't leave the ship, and the aliens won't attack. What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?
Try to give a reason as command or something else for the marines or the command staff to get them to land and engage on the colony

9. The round ends, a MARINE starts shooting a hostile CLF member and the CLF member Adminhelps complaining he was killed after the round ended.
as from the lore CLF are hostile to marines its perfeclty normal for him shoot the CLF.

10. A marine is running around disarming, punching and stealing gear at round start.
He seems to a be a troll and doing stuff no reasoning from the start warn him of his actions, if it still goes beyond a ban for a few hours

11. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.
That is not a sufficient to kill a marine over warn the killer about it if he had any warning of him or logs of him killing a marine , give him a 3 hour ban

12. An issue arises that requires Admin+ abilities.
First look at the active staff members in the server if none move it up to discord to ask an admin+ if he could come and deal with the situation.

13. There are minor racist comments going on IC. 9 of the 10 people are laughing and RPing but one player gets offended and Adminhelps about it.
Tell the person saying the racist comments to hold back on some of them as one of the players got offended about it and tell the offended player that it will be dealt with

14. A marine opens fire at round start in briefing killing multiple marines and instantly logs off.
Cheack the background of the marine that fired and killed a few people. Apply a day ban for his actions. keep a note on his background about this.

15. You see a player playing a xeno larva/chestburster run towards the frontlines and die.
Message him about it tell him to not do those kind of things, If i still see him repeating it a warning, and if still it goes on a xeno ban.

16. You see a xeno memeing, saying AYYLMAO, REEEEEE etc in hivemind chat.
Tell him to hold back on those terms, if continued a warning. If still a 3 hour ban about it.Keep a note of his actions i

17. A xeno player calls the shuttle a "dropship". A different xeno player complains to you that it's metagaming/failRP to call it a "dropship".
Tell the xeno player that complained about it to cheack the Xeno rules as its not failRP/metagming

18. A Command staff player at briefing near round-start mentions there are aliens on the planet.
Message that command staff that he should not be able to know whats on the planet, apply a warning if needed.

19. A Marine kills another Marine on the EVAC Pod to take the last spot and claims it was RP as he was saving himself.
Warn the killer about that and tell him not do it again

20. You see a fellow staff member give wrong information in an Adminhelp or incorrectly enforcing a rule.
Tell that Staff member that he gave wrong info and tell him to give the right info to the person he was helping with

20a. You see a fellow staff member abusing his powers in-game.
Try to take evidience of the staff member abusing his powers maybe even tell him that he might lose his position. Call an Head admin to make a desicion and the evidience

21. You see a player talking in OOC chat about what he did with your mom last night.
If the ERP goes beyond the minimum, give him a 3 hour ban

Alright. I see quite a few things wrong with some of the answers given in my opinion. I will do a breakdown of them all:

Would you not conduct an investigation into why the marine randomly shot another marine? Even if the MPs have detained him he was potentially breaking server rules/attempting to grief

You see a player who is clearly lost which suggests he is new to the server and you give him a warning? No. Nowhere near the truth. You ask for a mentor to help guide him and if none are online you try to help him yourself. We don't punish/warn people for being new

Minor racism when in the form of RP is allowed. This is an IC situation. You should remind the person complaining that if they have issues with IC problems they should go to their officers or the MPs

Again. If it was role played this situation is an IC issue. If it was not RPed and escalated properly then you would warn the killer

Don't correct them yourself, just take evidence and hand it to their head staff so they can look into it. This saves an argument between you.

Dont talk to them at all. Just take the evidence and give it to their head to deal with.

Those are the major concerns that I spotted, however, there are some issues of lesser concern in other answers as well.

I dont think you understand the server rules or staff procedures enough currently to moderate.

For the first situation i tryed to edit that after 3 to 4 minutes of posting but must have been late about it. For the 3rd i assumed it was some troll going around i couldn't catch that he was a new player, i could have adden more to it. I might need more time with the rules or the procedures as you said.

Few things about your staff application, but before all this, let me say, this will never be held against you if you try again in few months so try to go thru all the valid concerns with cold heart:
1) Header of the topic has to be your Ckey, not your forum name
2) your answers are too short and mostly incorrect, X31st covered most of them
3) you should play our server more, and read other, accepted, mod apps

I would actualy like more responses, trying to see what problems i have with the application and which parts of the rules i goto improve on. More indept response's would definitely help me with my next application or with the rules.

But hell if you plan on reapplying in a month or two, I recommend two. I'de be more than happy to help you out in learning about what moderators do. I tend to train trial moderators anychance i get so feel free to bother me on discord!

The real question is, can you see the parts that you have gotten wrong?

Take a look at other applications, read through the rules again.

I haven't seen you around much and the other staff members have pointed out several issues already.

I recommend you play some more on our server before applying for staff. Get some more experience, read a few accepted applications and become more familiar with the rules.

I'm going to go ahead and deny this. You should absolutely look through some of our past accepted apps and take some time to wrap your head around the rules and try again in a month's time.
