Dino's re staff application

Post by Dinobubba7 » 11 Aug 2015, 11:02

Byond ID: Dinobubba7

Colonial Marines Character: Adamska Liqu-Revoler-uid

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Timezone: EST

On average, how many hours are you available per week to moderate? Since I will be having school start back up soon, I would say about 6 to 8 hours.

Do you have any previous experience in being staff (not just SS13)? Yes I have.

Did you play any of the previous Colonial Marine servers? Yes I did.

Have you had an application to Colonial Marines or New Eden denied before? Yes.

Are you currently a staff member elsewhere (not just SS13)? If so, where? No.

Have you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on Colonial Marines? No.

If a player was shooting everyone in briefing at round start how would you deal with the situation? I would immediately begin reading the logs, to see about all the damage, then I would PM the person, look at said persons admin notes about said person, then would punish for 5 hours

You notice that a xeno is breaching the Nostromo and is unable to seal it with resin. How would you deal with this and what punishment would you give for a first offender? I would give them a warn them about it if it was a first offender, I would again, begin to read the logs to see the damage, PM the person and give them a warning. If it was not, I would still go into the logs, PM the person, and read the admin notes about them. Then I would ban them for 2 hours for atmospheric breech without sealing, and then put up a wall at the breech, and restore air and pressure in the affected areas.

The marines want the nuke codes to detonate the Nostromo because they claim they are losing too many marines. There are currently 4 aliens and 20 marines in your /who. What do you do? I would look at the time of the round, and then I would do an announcement sort of thing ICly about how for example, We do not have the nuke code, we misplaced them and cannot find it, so you should all fight on.

A Sulaco Medic has made several napalm grenades and hands them out to marines. One of the marines throws the grenade into Logistics. There are no admins or other moderators online. What do you do? I would first PM the medic who made the grenades due to sulaco medics not suppose to know how to make grenade, and researchers being the ones who can, then again read the admin notes on the player, and search the logs again. Then I would also contact the person who threw the grenade at logistics, and give them a 7 hour ban for grief for no reason after looking through the logs and notes.

What would you do if a player started to talk about the things he did to your mom last night?
If it was admin PM, I would tell the person that the ahelp command is no supposed to be used like the way you did, and then I would ignore them.

Any additional information you'd like to add? No.

When I said go for it, I meant put in some effort...

Alright, so:

For example, low average time to moderate, ranging to around half a round a day, that's like 3.5 rounds a week.

Secondly, the first question you answered incorrectly, instantly perm banning someone, [which you can't do] without checking their notes or investigating. The second question you didn't bother saying you'd investigate either. Third question you're spoiling the round that marines have an advantage, which is unfair to the aliens. Fourth question was kind of right until the last part, permbanning for grief.

And the last question...that's just abuse.

Big -1 buddy.

i kinda have to agree with lord, our procedures are posted in the open and it appears you did not even read them.. im going to need to give the -1.

The questions are answered poorly, clearly has not read the staff procedures and seems to jump to perma bans with nearly everything and no investigation..

so yeah.. but good luck on your next app if you post it..

I would have thought you would have learnt from your mistakes after the first application yet you have clearly rushed this and got answers wrong again. -1

Better application than the previous one.. just still really not good and I'm pretty much on par with everyone above.

Also not sure why people are being allowed to edit their applications, kind of defeats the whole purpose of a application?

The point isn't to edit it based on what we've said, it's how YOU would answer them. You don't just "this guy said something so let me put that in my thing." That defeats the purpose of writing it if people write it for you.

Humm, I believe that he read some of the other apps and simply went through the motions but ignored the point of some of the procedures, theres nothing special about this app and it honestly seems rather sub-par in terms of qualities I would like to see in other staff members.

Also, I have seen Dinobubba roleplaying well.
Shows good leadership as a SL.
(Irrelevant Good Thing) Players seems to have taken a liking into him.

However, no offense: I do see you trying to have a Metal Gear Solid name as a RP Name for playerbase and was warned by Lorde, that being pushed aside, you've created a strange unique Metal Gear Solid name but not original [not sure if people approves of this].

We could use some moderator during this time. (6:00 PM Central Time Zone). If it doesn't works out for you, we always can remove you, like other staffs. No aggressive intended.

Neutral but leaning toward to +1.

I created that for him, and in a previous round he kept calling people "slack jaw faggots."

I'm rejecting purely on the fact that he can't allocate more than 8 hours to the server. I'm sorry, but it's sort of pointless to hire someone who can only be on like once a week or for like less than an hour every day. I know time isn't everything, but that alone just makes it seem like it's pointless to put you on.

To clarify: When lost says "rejecting" I believe he means he's giving a -1, since there are 4 people who can reject staff applications: Me, Rah, SAS, Lucyz.

I always say I'm rejecting something when I disagree with an app, bad habit I guess. Of course only head staff's decisions are final.
