The problem I had, is the fact that the Carrier actually isn't apart of the Alien franchise. It's from the Video game and there's only like 1 or 2 pictures of it from there. The rest were drawn from other people so I had to base it off the tiny lore behind it from the video game. Which was lightsh dark grey in color and the size of a Ravager. I could always make the grey darker and closer to black but still a dark grey though.

learning styles is different from proving you can or can't do something, such is art. Perhaps if we gave him some guidelines he could easier modify it to fit the SS13 style seeing as he/she is competent enough to produce a decent icon.

I like the icon for the carrier and the computer. I'll keep my +1 you just need some molding to understand what they need to look like to work cooperatively with the other icons.

+1 too. I love how the carriers look, and if there is scant data for how a carrier looks, then it is artist's imagination. I personally play a Carrier a LOT, and you may know me as 'that carrier who hugged 26 people in one life'. All T3s are either the same size as, or very slightly smaller than the Queen and I don't see why the Carrier would be the exception to the rule.

+1

I'd agree that the carrier doesn't fit the style, and I would say that it is too detailed.

Currently the xenos don't have as high of contrast, nor do they have different colored spikes/claws.

I think if you made the whole thing shades of mud brown and made the carrier legs not line up as perfectly it would fit the style much better.

Basically it's too nice looking for ss13. Most things are 8bit style, with the xenos being still 8 bit. Your carrier is more like 16 bit due to the shading and more details. Obviously it's a spectrum, but hopefully that is helpful.

Lore wise, carriers are not as shrimpy as they appear in game, but I do think it needs to be more single color with thick lines to match the rest of the xenos.

It's litterally like 4 colors... not including black.. XD And the "Claws" are actually scythes that it uses to kill with when it's out of Huggers. Also, the legs are almost identical to the Current Ravager and Queen. With some minor adjustments to fit the body frame. It's also supposed to be grey and not black. I was only following the Lore from what there is. I was only following the pictures, even though yes. The grey could be a bit darker.

"The Carrier is a large Xenomorph like the Ravager or the Queen. Rather than possessing hands like most Xenos, the Carrier has a single blade on each arm much like a praying mantis. The tubes on its back are much longer and seem to have joints on them. The Facehuggers cling to these tubes where they feed. The Carrier also uses these tubes to fling the Facehuggers at enemies which causes instant death on the foe. When the Carrier is out of Facehuggers, it uses its praying mantis-like appendages to impale its enemies; if the Carrier does have Facehuggers but is facing an enemy that can't be impregnated (such as a Synthetic), it will use also its bladed arms. The Carrier is greyish in color, resembling the Drone but twice three times as big." From, http://avp.wikia.com/wiki/Carrier

The carrier looks more like a dinosaur than a Xenomorph to me. And it looks like its flesh fat, instead of rigid exoskeleton.

You try making that without making it detailed. People are so needy >.> "It's too much detail!", "It needs more detail" Make up your minds...

Just work on making it match the SS13 style. That's the most important thing right now.

It's a good start for sure, but you need to be more open to criticism. Complaining about people critiquing your work isn't going to solve anything.

I mean, if you'd like I could try spriting it. Never done spriting for more than 1 tile though. Should be interesting.

I didn't say it needed more or less detail. Sometimes things look better with less detail, due to the amount of pixels we have to work with. What matters is that it looks nice when its in the game window, and it doesn't feel... out of place, or something. If you'd like I can send you a link of a .xcf spriting template that I made to sprite random gear for marines when I feel like spriting. It comes with four human dummies facing North, South, East, West, an assortment of clothes in the correct overlay order, and a picture of the Game Window size to give you a feel for how small or big your sprite will be when people see it in game. It also has various background tiles that you can enable to allow you to see if you have some misplaced pixels or anything. Such as a White, Black, Grey, Normal floor plating, Exposed floor plating, and Space! I also have everything in nice neat layer groups and stuff.

So, lemme know if you'd like me to get you a link to it to DL it or something, I don't mind sharing.

Ok, Give me some ideas how to make it better fit the style. Besides making the Grey darker and giving it more of an exoskeleton look. Any other tips?

Higher contrast, darker greys, a more clearly defined border and a little more flat color.

Also you'll need to make the sprite 32x32 as I mentioned in my private message.

I would reccomend Git Extensions. It does almost everything that Git Bash can do but with a *somewhat* easy to use UI. The only thing I have ever needed Bash for is to standardize line endings, which it sounds like you wont need to.

By the way, the arm on the opposite side should be smaller not longer than the one facing us from the rotated view.
