AWPenheimer moderator application
Byond ID: AWPenheimer
Colonial Marines Character: Vladimir Kizichi
Age: 25 (Age autocorrected, thanks windows 10.)
Gender: Male
Timezone: GMT 0, British time
On average, how many hours are you available per week to moderate? Around 2-3 hours a day, 5-6 on weekends so, 25-30 hours a week.
Do you have a Skype account (Skype is REQUIRED)?
Yes I do, jordie.uk
Do you have any previous experience in being staff (not just SS13)?
I've hosted and staffed many other servers. I've been headmin on a few and I'm not stranger to moderation on ss13, I might need a slight refresher however.
Did you play any of the previous Colonial Marine servers?
I've played on and off for a while..
Have you had an application to Colonial Marines before?
No I have not.
Are you currently a staff member elsewhere (not just SS13)? If so, where?
No I am not.
Have you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on Colonial Marines?
I have not been banned for 24 hours or over, however I did once receive a 3 hour ban for accidentally shooting someone once, (probably an admin mistake).
Common Staff Situations:
Write a description of what you would do in each situation (BELOW) the situation. If you start it on the same line, I'll assume you can't follow directions and auto-decline your application.
1. A player is firing his weapon in the briefing area near the start of the round.
If he is attempting to kill over players I would freeze/sleep him, I would then begin to question him on why he is firing. If he is not attempting to harm anyone I would politely ask him to stop firing and to avoid doing so in the future, letting him off with a warning. If over marines begin to fire fight with him I will also freeze/sleep and question those marines as to why they shot back.
2. The Sulaco has a breach to space.
I would first off seal the breach, preventing other players from being harmed. I would then check the logs and variables of the area to see who created the breach. I would then message said player and ask them why they would breach and remind them it is against the rules. If he did it as grief I will ban them for a period of time, if they said it was accidental and I believe it was accidental I would let them off with a warning and remind them yet again of the rule.
3. The marines want the nuke codes because they claim they are losing too many marines. There are currently 4 aliens and 20 marines in your /who.
Tell them that they cannot have the nuke codes as they still outnumber the aliens. I would then scold the marine who asked saying it's not correct RP and tell him to proceed with the game as before, without nuke codes.
4. A Sulaco researcher has made several napalm grenades and hands them out to marines. One of the marines throws the grenade into Logistics. There are no admins or other moderators online.
I would quickly freeze the marine and ask why he did that. From there I will decide on ban severity. I will then talk to and revive anyone killed and attempt to fix any damage. I will question the researcher as to why he made napalm grenades and freely handed them out. I would then warn the researcher to be more careful and to not do it again.
5. A played is starting to talk about the things he did with your mom last night over Ahelp.
Proceed to ignore him, a staff member should never stoop to a trolls level. If he proceeds to spam Ahelp I would contact an admin to see if he can be muted from Ahelp.
6. You notice a marine with a name that doesn't fit our naming rules.
I question him as to why his name doesn't suit the rules. I then ask him for a different name to change too and it he refuses to give a proper name I will give him one I decide. If he starts to argue I will point him towards the rule section and remind that he should have read it. If another staff member doesn't pick up on it doesn't mean you are exempt from the rule.
6a. The marine is arguing that: They've used the name for several years, noone has told them to change it before, and that they didn't know it was a rule.
As said above, I will tell him that just because no one noticed it, he is not exempt. I will remind them to read the rules thoroughly and change the name to either one he requested or one I decide if he cannot take it seriously. A certain level of RP is expected in the server.
7. You see a Sulaco Doctor with an M41A rifle strapped to his back running around the briefing area. There are wounded in medbay, and the other doctor is in surgery.
I would tell him to stop acting like a marine, to drop the rifle and get on with his job. If he refuses I will warn him and if he continues on still I will talk to an admin about possibly getting a medical job ban.
8. You see a Squad Medic performing surgery on the planet. He claims it was because there were no doctors in the FOB.
I first check /who to see if there is any medics. If there isn't I question to why he did it on the planet and why it couldn't wait. I inform him that surgery should be done elsewhere and is not his job. If there is a doctor online I will tell him to take the person to them, and remind them to do so in the future. If the guy dies in transport to the doctor I will revive them as it was an unfair death.
9. The round is stagnating. There are 30 marines and 4 aliens. The marines won't leave the Sulaco, and the aliens won't attack. What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?
I would encourage the high ranking officers onboard the Sulaco to make an advance onto the planet to do something. I would also tell the aliens to maybe plan an attack and be prepared and hint at the fact marines may come soon, so they have a chance to reingnite the round. If the high ranking officers refuse to give the order to move I will use a announcement from 'higher command' informing that they need to get onto LV-624 and do something.
10. The round ends, and a marine starts unloading his weapons on other marines.
I freeze him and delay round end. I tell him end round grief is against the rules and I will give him a short ban. If he does it next round he plays I will lengthen the ban.
11. A marine who has recently awoken is using soap to slip other marines.
I tell him this is not proper RP and ask him to play the game properly or not at all. If he continues to troll I will either kick or apply a short term ban, (either till round end or a couple hours.) If he stops and continues properly I will let him off with a warning and allow him to play.
12. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.
I tell him this is not proper RP, I ask the other marine why he punched him. I let the marine who punched him off with a warning after reviving him, I then will apply a short or long ban, depending on the circumstances, to the marine who shot him.
Any additional information you'd like to add?
I would be grateful if accepted, really want to be admitted into such a caring, amazing community.
English isn't my first language so I apologise for any mistakes.

Re: AWPenheimer moderator application
Alright, so this is a huge clusterfudge and I'll try to clear a few things up:
You literally just joined the forums, I've never seen you in game before, which isn't a good thing. Also, it doesn't make any sense that you'd just join now, you don't know what goes on here yet, you obviously didn't care enough to make one beforehand.
Next, what servers did you staff/headmin, the point of that section is so the heads can check in on and see if you were poor at the job, if you had any problems with the staff.
The answers were low-mediocre at most, very vague in giving specific ban times, but questions 3 and 12 stood out the most. Only heads of staff can give out codes, and you NEVER tell the marines they outnumber the aliens or vice versa. With those few words you can destroy a round from continuing and just break any and all RP, along with giving the marines some meta-knowledge. For question 12, we go by the standards of RP escalation, with punches leading to melee combat that can later go into shooting if it gets as bad. It's an IC issue if both parties are EQUALLY involved, if it's one sided with a marine punching in defense and another with a .44 magnum blowing his head off for no reason, then it's grief.
Finally, if English isn't your first language you shouldn't moderate until you have a great grasp of the language, because you're dealing with English speaking people only.
Big -1, i'm pretty sure this'll get autodenied.

I can understand and speak English, it's just not perfect. The server I was headmin on is now completely gone. I didn't realise my forum account had to be 2 weeks old, sorry for wasting your time.
