Moderator Application
Byond ID: liam1222
Colonial Marines Character: Liam 'emu' Egan
Age: 14 (I'm a very mature 14 year old) 15 in june 2
Gender: Male
Timezone:
I live in Australia, Queensland,Brisbane if that's what you mean
On average, how many hours are you available per week to moderate?
It varies I can usually get around 6-14 hours a week or more
Do you have a Skype account (Skype is REQUIRED)?
yes I do
Do you have any previous experience in being staff (not just SS13)?
no but I looking forward to learning the tools of the trade
Did you play any of the previous Colonial Marine servers?
no
What other servers do you play on?
none others really besides a couple of odd ones I see here and there
What are the 3 biggest servers you play on besides CM?
None
Have you had an application to Colonial Marines before?
Nope
Are you currently a staff member elsewhere (not just SS13)? If so, where?
No
Have you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on Colonial Marines?
never
Have you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on ANY server? If so, where and When (roughly)?
I've never been given any punishment
Waht
Common Staff Situations:
Write a description of what you would do in each situation (BELOW) the situation. If you start it on the same line, I'll assume you can't follow directions and auto-decline your application.
1. A player is firing his weapon in the briefing area near the start of the round.
I'd ask for what reason he is firing, if its for no reason I'll give him a warning for disrupting gameplay if he is firing at another marine I will let it play out
2. The Sulaco has a breach to space.
Find the person or persons responsible give them the appropriate punishment and hopefully by then I will have the knowledge to fix the breach myself otherwise I will notify a more experienced person
3. The marines want the nuke codes because they claim they are losing too many marines. There are currently 4 aliens and 20 marines in your /who.
I'd tell them to grow some balls and go kick some ass, if they continue to ask i'll let them know how many are on the xeno's side and how incompetent they are if they can't kill 4 xeno's
4. A Sulaco researcher has made several napalm grenades and hands them out to marines. One of the marines throws the grenade into Logistics. There are no admins or other moderators online.
well i don't have any knowledge of a napalm grenade although i assume its highly destructive i would ban the marine and warn the supplier which is presumably the researcher of possible consequences in the future for not being careful for who you give out highly destructive grenades to
5. A played is starting to talk about the things he did with your mom last night over Ahelp.
I would find out if he was kidding or if he is being an a dick, if he is being a dick i'd ban him for 4-6 hours if he was just kidding i'd ask him to kindly shut up
6. You notice a marine with a name that doesn't fit our naming rules.
I'd make him aware of what rules he is breaking and that after the round ends get his name changed ASAP
6a. The marine is arguing that: They've used the name for several years, noone has told them to change it before, and that they didn't know it was a rule.
He'd be told that I do not make up the rules I only enforce them and that its his fault for not reading the rules as is required before you enter the game
7. You see a Sulaco Doctor with an M41A rifle strapped to his back running around the briefing area. There are wounded in medbay, and the other doctor is in surgery.
I'd tell him to get his shit together and drop the gun and do his job, failure to comply he will be job banned
8. You see a Squad Medic performing surgery on the planet. He claims it was because there were no doctors in the FOB.
He is still forbidden by the rules to perform any surgery no matter how small the injury
9. The round is stagnating. There are 30 marines and 4 aliens. The marines won't leave the Sulaco, and the aliens won't attack. What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?
Make the marines aware of the odds I can't think of anything else
10. The round ends, and a marine starts unloading his weapons on other marines.
Warnings will be given as well as a possible job ban
11. A marine who has recently awoken is using soap to slip other marines.
Warn him to stop if he continues to disturb gameplay (refuse to comply ) he will be banned for maybe around 2-3 hours
12. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.
Find out both sides of the story depending I will revive the dead player and possibly ban the other marine if found that the punching wasn't excessive
Any additional information you'd like to add?
I strongly believe in always telling the truth even if I am in the wrong, i never rage out of control and will be as fair as possible i am looking forward to learning how to be an efficient moderator :P

Re: Moderator Application
Being apart of, knowing, and talking to the Community is half your job as Moderator on this server. The other half is Server Administration, and the answers you provided are lack luster to say the least; Not only that but you've only posted five posts before applying this, I could see maybe overlooking the age thing but not the rest. I'd recommend waiting being apart of the community for awhile and looking into Administration for SS13 guides(i.e. Verbs, abilities, proper etiquette) also if you haven't already, look at the Admin's code of conduct and memorize the rules before applying.

Re: Moderator Application
Quite too young sorry... I think the youngest staff member is 17 years old. From my personal experience I trust 16+ years olds because they are less likely to make unstable decisions. And maturity is quited used reason to validify the age issue. I know that anyone above the age of 11 can be mature, but what is the true behavior and nature? That is concealed but will eventually come out.

Re: Moderator Application
Throwing out a -1, majority of the answers were just straight out crap, and the age is also a big issue. From what I understand, you don't have much experience In ss13 in general because you don't play on other servers, nor have prior experience. There are plenty of other applications with much more promise than this.

Re: Moderator Application

Re: Moderator Application
I'm going to have to go with -1 as we do have a minimum age requirement which you do not meet.
