On average, how many hours are you available per week to moderate?:
If I had to make an estimate I'd say about 5-20 it all depends on the week but usually I put in at least an hour a day into CM (Unless there's certain circumstances. I'm too tired, family, etc.)

Do you have any previous experience in being staff (not just SS13)?:
No I do not have any previous experience outside of SS13.

Did you play any of the previous Colonial Marine servers?:
Yes I played on the Sulaco when it was around.

What are the 3 biggest servers you play on besides CM?:
I don't really play many other servers but if I had to say it would probably go amongst the lines of Escalation, Paradise, and Yogstation from time to time.

Nope

Have you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on ANY server? If so, which server, when, and what for?:
Yes I'm perma banned on hippie for accidentally releasing a Nitrogen tank I believe it was. I tried to close it however someone opened the door and it spilled all over research I will take responsibility for that action. If I had to give you a date it was probably around 6-7 months ago.

Are you familiar with the chat program Slack (its use is required)?:
Yes I use it quite often.

Common Staff Situations:
Write a description of what you would do in each of the following situations. Do not write on the same line as the situation - use the space below it or make space as needed. Failure to do this proves your inability to follow instructions and your application will be automatically denied.

1. A player randomly shoots someone at round start and MPs have detained him.:
I'll first PM the aggressor asking them why they did that and while they are taking their time to answer (Or not answer at all) I will look into their notes and their history to see if this is a common occurrence. If the situation happens to be a misfire and their note/history checks out I will let it slide as an IC issue and let the MPs handle it as an IC issue. If it's a case of intentional grief and I can clearly deduct that after investigating both parties and seeing the state of the person who he shot I would apply a warning, note, or three hour ban depending on how severe the situation is at the time.

2. The ship has a breach to space and a bunch of players have died or are dying as a result.:
If there is indeed a breach I will patch it up immediately and then investigate on what/who did the breach if it's just the dropship no further action is needed. However if it's a player than I will PM them and ask them why they did that action, and check their note history to see if there has been any mention of griefing or similar actions and from there issue out a note and a ban if it equals out to be intentional griefing. I I happen to deduct that it's a new player or a complete accident I will let them slide off with a note/warning.


3. You see a player walking around the ship naked and clearly lost.:
I would PM them to ask if they're new if they reply with yes I will get a Mentor on it if there's no mentor or serious issues going on I will assist the player.


4. A player is being very rude to you in Adminhelps and requesting to speak to an Admin+ staff member.:
The key is to keep a calm head and not let it get to me if I can help them than I will help them if an admin is truly needed I will call for an admin on slack. However if there's no admin on and it's simply something that I can fix or do I will do it and if the very rude behavior escalates to a point I'll note them for it as it's likely I won't be the only staff they're rude to.


5. You notice a player with a name that doesn't fit our naming rules. The player is arguing that: They've used the name for several years, no one has told them to change it before, and that they didn't know it was a rule.:
Well first I would tell them our motto "Ignorance is not an excuse" and ask them why didn't they read the rules when they first joined the server. There's a giant text saying "READ THE RULES" so there's no reason for him to not have read them before. I would than tell him that despite how long you've had it or etc you still need to change your name. If the behavior persists (Not changing their name) and continues on I would note them for it.


6. You see a Maintenance Tech running around in armor and carrying a rifle. The security level is green with no threat present.:
This is an IC issue that a MP should deal with. If it gets really bad and I have to subtle message an MP I will do that. Overall however the issue is an IC issue that the MPs should be able to deal with.


7. You see a Squad Medic performing surgery on the planet. He claims it was because there were no doctors in the FOB.:
Assuming the skill system is thrown out the window. I would tell them to close up the surgery on the spot and take them to an actual doctor as medics can't perform surgery. I would than check their note history and see if this type of behavior has been repeated or if they've been warned again. If they've been warned before and before I would issue a three hour ban however if it's a first time offense I would just issue a warn and write up a note.


8. The round is stagnating. There are 30 marines and 4 aliens. The marines won't leave the ship, and the aliens won't attack. What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?:
If the xenos are clearly able to do an offensive I would use the "Queen Mother" Or "USCM High Command" to tell both sides to finish the job. For example the Xenos are meant to spread and breed they're meant to expand and infect. I would tell the Xenomorphs to continue the assault and infest the rest of the hosts mop them up. I would tell the Marines that "The mission is of utmost importance and we need this job done.. You're marines don't forget we have a job to finish here"


9. The round ends, a MARINE starts shooting a hostile IRON BEAR and the IRON BEAR Adminhelps complaining he was killed after the round ended.:
I'll explain to the Iron Bear that the exception to the rule of EORG is opposing sides such as Marines - Xenomorphs, and as such the no EORG rule wouldn't apply in that specific scenario because he is a Iron bear. The marine was in the right to kill the iron bear the rule does not apply in this circumstance.


10. A marine is running around disarming, punching and stealing gear at round start.:
The MPs should be able to handle this one and of course I'll observe them to make sure everything is going smoothly. If needed I will subtle message a MP to direct them towards this player. If the player is taking it to another level however as in causing a lot of trouble that will ruin other players round and there are no MPs I will PM them to stop it and issue a note.


11. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.:
I will investigate both parties stories and check the logs to make sure everything turns out. If the aggressor simply shot him after one punch this is a case of improper escalation and depending on their note history I will issue a 3 hour ban or more. I will also heal the wounded victim if there's no medics or doctors around. If the victim however threw a couple punches, pulled out a melee weapon and used it against the person than it would be alright.


12. An issue arises that requires Admin+ abilities.:
First I'll ping an admin on Slack mentioning that I need their help with this situation. If there's no admins on I'll write the details down on slack and make sure the information gets to an admin one way or another so they can look into this matter.


13. There are minor racist comments going on IC. 9 of the 10 people are laughing and RPing but one player gets offended and Adminhelps about it.:
This is an IC issue and marines are pretty rowdy they'll usually say racist things or make offensive jokes so I'll let it slide. However if the jokes are taken to another level as in no longer a joke but blatant racism I will pm them and tell them to calm down with the jokes.


14. A marine opens fire at round start in briefing killing multiple marines and instantly logs off.:
I will aheal all the players that have been killed and tell them in either LOOC, or OOC that the situation is being resolved continue on with your round. I would than look at the person's history to determine punishment if this is a repeating occurrence I would go for a 7 day ban and push for a perma depending on how common this behavior is. If this is a first time offense I will write a note detailing the actions they committed and give them a 24 hour ban.


15. You see a player playing a xeno larva/chestburster run towards the frontlines and die.:
Investigate the situation first if they happen to be near a marine force and simply panicked I would let it slide. However if this is on purpose I will give them a warning and a note for this behavior. If their history indicates that they have repeated this behavior many times I would tell them that they can simply ghost next time if you don't want to play xeno there's no need to waste slots than I would issue a job ban and a 3 hour ban.


16. You see a xeno memeing, saying AYYLMAO, REEEEEE etc in hivemind chat.:
I'll message them reminding them to act like a Xenomorph and stop memeing. If it's just light memeing I'll let it slide however if it's quite obvious that they're memeing to a heavier extent I'll write a note and warn them. If they are a repeat offender I'll give them a three hour ban.


17. A xeno player calls the shuttle a "dropship". A different xeno player complains to you that it's metagaming/failRP to call it a "dropship".:
Xenomorphs are allowed to use words such as "dropship". I'll also tell them that this is not against the rules.


18. A Command staff player at briefing near round-start mentions there are aliens on the planet.:
I'll tell the Command staff player that this is metagaming and against the rules and issue a note along with a warning if this is a first time offense. If it's a repeat offender I'll job ban them from command. I'll also inform the players OOC that they do not know what threat they face.


19. A Marine kills another Marine on the EVAC Pod to take the last spot and claims it was RP as he was saving himself.:
If there was proper role play, and an argument I will let it slide as humans especially marines will do anything in drastic times to save their own lives. However if they simply blasted the person to take their spot without any prior role play or argument i'll firstly warn them, note them, and depending on note history ban them for three hours.


20. You see a fellow staff member give wrong information in an Adminhelp or incorrectly enforcing a rule.:
I'll inform them of their mistake and tell them how to fix it and give them the proper information.

20a. You see a fellow staff member abusing his powers in-game.:
I'll grab the evidence and head straight to their superior.


21. You see a player talking in OOC chat about what he did with your mom last night.::
I'll just ignore them a lot of people talk trash, you can't let it get to you.

I believe the issue has been fixed and yes I've been a mentor for about 3 months now. As for number 7 if the notes check out of this being a two time offense, or etc I would issue a job ban from medic.
