On average, how many hours are you available per week to moderate?
I would say about 10h - 14h if I don't have alot of tests etc.

Do you have any previous experience in being staff (not just SS13)?
Other than a mentor on CM, I've also been a moderator for a Star Wars RP Server on GMod. Otherwise, no, I don't.

Did you play any of the previous Colonial Marine servers?
I've been playing SS13 for quite some time now (3-4 years) and been also playing CM for over 2 years now. So yes.

What are the 3 biggest servers you play on besides CM?
I occasionally play on Paradise, other than that I don't play on any other server.

Have you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on ANY server? If so, which server, when, and what for?
I've been banned multiple times on Paradise, but that was 1-2 years ago. I've appealed them and always got them lifted. One was for filling cargo with plasma and then removing it as a prank. Another one was for being very salty at an admin. The others I don't remember.

Are you familiar with the chat program Slack (its use is required)?
Yes, I'm using it since I'm a mentor.

Common Staff Situations:
Write a description of what you would do in each of the following situations. Do not write on the same line as the situation - use the space below it or make space as needed. Failure to do this proves your inability to follow instructions and your application will be automatically denied.

1. A player randomly shoots someone at round start and MPs have detained him.
I'ld pm the player that randomly shot at round start and ask them why they've been shooting the other player. If it was accidental I'ld leave it to the MPs. If he purposely wanted to grief I would heal the player that has been shot and check the notes of the griefing players, depending on his notes and the severity of the shooting I would give him a ban and explain to him why he will be banned.

2. The ship has a breach to space and a bunch of players have died or are dying as a result.
Close the breach to space. Restore air. Heal all Players that have died and are dying back to full health.

3. You see a player walking around the ship naked and clearly lost.
I would ask a mentor if they could check on the player and see if he's new. If there is no mentor avaliable I'ld PM him, ask him if he's new and explain the game to him aswell as linking him to the wiki and reminding him to read the rules.

4. A player is being very rude to you in Adminhelps and requesting to speak to an Admin+ staff member.
I'ld PM/message a Admin+ Staff Member that a Player wants to talk with them. If there's no way of contacting a admin+ staff member I'ld politely tell him that if he wishes to, he is free to report me on the forums. I'ld also remind them of General Rule 1 and if they proceed to be very rude/ if the rudeness is severe I would warn them/issue a ban aswell as adding the incident to his notes.

5. You notice a player with a name that doesn't fit our naming rules. The player is arguing that: They've used the name for several years, no one has told them to change it before, and that they didn't know it was a rule.
I'ld tell them to reread the rules as they've been probably updated, I'ld tell the player that even though no one has told them to change it before he still has to change it. I'ld ask them what name they would like to have instead and change it if it fits the naming rules. I'ld also tell them to change the name in the Setup Character menu.

6. You see a Maintenance Tech running around in armor and carrying a rifle. The security level is green with no threat present.
No rule is broken, it's an IC issue.

7. You see a Squad Medic performing surgery on the planet. He claims it was because there were no doctors in the FOB.
Squad Medics can't perform surgery any more due to the new skill system.

8. The round is stagnating. There are 30 marines and 4 aliens. The marines won't leave the ship, and the aliens won't attack. What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?
I'ld 'subtle message' either the Commander or the Queen to start doing something. (If possible in a RP way). If that doesn't work I'ld message a staff member with high enough powers to influence the round in a way, so it's no longer stagnant.

9. The round ends, a MARINE starts shooting a hostile IRON BEAR and the IRON BEAR Adminhelps complaining he was killed after the round ended.
I'ld tell the Iron Bear that's it's legit.
See General rule 7, Examples of griefing: "Fighting after the round ends and generating combat logs. The exception is Marines and aliens fighting, or fighting against spawned Antags (Russian attack teams, W-Y Assassins, etc). End of Round Grief (EORG) is an IMMEDIATE 3 hour ban with no warnings."

10. A marine is running around disarming, punching and stealing gear at round start.
Low RP behaviour, I'ld PM him, ask him what he was doing, check his notes and give him a warning aswell as updating his notes. If he is a repeated offender I'ld ban him accordingly.

11. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.
Check combat logs and see if it escalated properly. If not I'ld PM the other player and check if it was an RP situation and both consented. If not, then I'ld warn the offender that he can't kill someone for punching him and it needs to be properly escalated, check his notes, add it to his notes and if it was a repeated offense, I'ld ban him accodringly and tell him why he's being banned.

12. An issue arises that requires Admin+ abilities.
PM/Message an admin that has Admin+ abilities, if I can't contact an Admin+ for some reson, I'l try to resolve the issue to the best of my abilities with my abilities and well, bad luck.

13. There are minor racist comments going on IC. 9 of the 10 people are laughing and RPing but one player gets offended and Adminhelps about it.
See General rule 1. I'ld tell the player that adminhelped that minor racism is fine and they shouldn't take it too seriously.

14. A marine opens fire at round start in briefing killing multiple marines and instantly logs off.
Heal all players that have been hurt and/or killed due to him, check his notes, update them and ban him accordingly. I'ld also write a perma request.

15. You see a player playing a xeno larva/chestburster run towards the frontlines and die.
Warn the player and tell them that that is not allowed, check his notes and add it to them, if he has already done such a thing I'ld apply a xeno-ban.

16. You see a xeno memeing, saying AYYLMAO, REEEEEE etc in hivemind chat.
Warn them that such behaviour is not okay and that they need to read the xeno rules. Check his notes and add it to them, if he's been low-rping as a xenooften enough, I'ld apply a xeno-ban.

17. A xeno player calls the shuttle a "dropship". A different xeno player complains to you that it's metagaming/failRP to call it a "dropship".
Tell the xeno player that ahelped that it is okay and point out that they should check Xeno Rule 1, where it states that the hivemind is a english translation of the xeno's thoughts.

18. A Command staff player at briefing near round-start mentions there are aliens on the planet.
PM the command staff player and tell them that they do not know of the xeno threat at round start. Check his notes and add the incident. If possible I'ld ask for an Ares announcement to fix the metagame issue, for example have Ares state that the SO is mentall ill.

19. A Marine kills another Marine on the EVAC Pod to take the last spot and claims it was RP as he was saving himself.
It's fine.

20. You see a fellow staff member give wrong information in an Adminhelp or incorrectly enforcing a rule.
I'ld PM the staff and correct him. If the staff member is higher ranking then me, I'ld not do aynthing regarding the enforcing of the rule besides reporting it to Feweh if necessary.

20a. You see a fellow staff member abusing his powers in-game.
I'ld contact an admin+ about it.

21. You see a player talking in OOC chat about what he did with your mom last night.
If it's not ERP related I wouldn't do anything, besides countering with an even better insult/joke.

13. Good to tell them our base rule for it, though you're going to want to at least tell them you're going to look into it and make sure the comment wasn't too far over the line. Context also can play a role.

14. Would you write a prema request if this was their first note?

15. I always like to add that you should make sure to know where they bursted from, as some larva get lost due to being new or were trying to get to safety.

18. ARES is Admin+, though OOC can be used in this case to make a correction.

19. I'd advise you reanswer this one in your follow-up reply.

I can't say I remember interacting with you that often as a mentor, though I'm pretty sure you've been around a good while. I'll throw my verdict in when you reply to mine and possibly others.

02. Though if the breach has killed a good amount of players on the marine side making it unfair for them I think it'ld be fair and legit to heal them, since breaches are something that usually doesn't happen. (We have made the outern walls undestroyable for a reason.

13. Right, actually checking how severe the comments are is something I forgot. Aswell as telling them, that you'll look into it, but that usually goes for most ahelps that aren't for mentors.

14. If someone randomly shoots alot of marines at round start and then logs off it's clear that they're griefing. There could also be the slight Chance that maybe their brother went on their PC and shot them or something like that, but I doubt it. They also failed to read our rules if they were new and didn't know how to play. Even if it was their first note, it seems like purposeful griefing and they could've made the account just to grief, so yes I would still write the perma request, since it's a request after all. Headmins decide if it's valid for an perma or not.

19. If we go by the book I'ld first check if any roleplaying has been actually done. Just walking into the pod and blasting someone's head off and then taking the last seat is low RP and it wouldn't be valid then. Though I don't see this being looked into often by staff for some reason.

I feel like I could go comment on some of those replies, but no use in going in-depth on everything in a mod application. Overall, I'm going to stay neutral on this for a vote. I don't have anything against you being a mod, but mostly I've never seen you talk in the whole time I've been a staff. This application just doesn't really blow me away and it feels rather simplistic and lacking any true passion placed into it, which I always like to see. Nothing against you and if you do make it, I'd enjoy seeing you interact more with the staff.

The past weeks I've been playing constantly aswell as talking with you during rounds via msay. I generally chat alot over msay, mchat aswell as discord, the only thing I don't use that much is slack (I'm always on slack though), though there's a 6 hour difference between our timezones, which is probably why you don't hear that much from me.

I'm going to have to agree with emerald on this one. Normally when I see a mod app from a mentor, what I'd like to see is something that stands out a bit more from the average app as a person who already has experience as staff.

I see you on the server, and I like you well enough, but the app doesn't really do anything for me, and I'd like to see more slack activity. Neutral for now.

Can you give us an example? Like, the message the player sends you, then the message would you send to the admin+ staff member, and by which mean?

Hey, sorry I didn't understand your sentence at 4. especially the middle and last part, could you please elaborate?

5. I can always PM someone with the power to change names to come online, though if that also doesn't work, and the name is very rude as you said I would ask them to cryo (and tell them they can rejoin the game with a new Name, though I'm unsure if mods can respawn players) after telling them about the naming rule (aswell as adding it to the notes) and depending on his notes I could ban him for 3h and ask someone to cryo him if he doesn't cryo.

Yeah that was poorly formatted, I meant to reference your answer to 4. You say you would "PM/message a Admin+ Staff Member that a Player wants to talk with them", after a player's been "requesting to speak to an Admin+ staff member". What I was asking for was the message the player sends to you, in which he requests to speak to an admin+ member; then, message you send to the admin+.

The message the person sends to me in which he complaints and wants to speak to me would be rude as said in 4.
It could be for example:
"That's so frickin' ridiculous you asshat I'ld rather speak with someone higher, can I talk to an admin?"

To which I would respond:
"Sure one moment."

Then I'ld 'bwoink' an admin+ in the game with:
"Hey there, 'player name' wants to speak to you, I've been handling them but for some reason they're inadequately satisfied with how I handle things, though watch out they're rather rude."

If there is no admin ingame, well bad luck, I doubt an admin wants to join the game just to hear the complaint of a player. I would PM the player saying:
"There is currently no admin online, but if you wish you may make a complaint on the forums."

First off, thank you for making the questions and your answers easily distinguishable. Makes the whole app easier to read and with having to read them, I appreciate that.

Most of your answers are fine, some could use a more detail in how you explain your investigation, but it's still clear to me that you have a good idea of how you'd be expected to handle the process. The ones that grabbed my attention to point out have already been addressed so no point in kicking the dead horse.

Combined between your application here and with your high activity and I think you'll do fine.
