On average, how many hours are you available per week to moderate?
I'm not exactly sure for how long I would be able to moderate but I think I had like 40 hours in january. More on hours on the bottom.
Do you have any previous experience in being staff (not just SS13)?
I'm a mentor, and was awhile ago too.
Did you play any of the previous Colonial Marine servers?
I don’t think so, I played on Sulaco but it was hosted by Apop, so I think not.
What are the 3 biggest servers you play on besides CM?
I only play CM, I may get on Halo, but thats practically never.

I think the longest I have been banned for 48 hours as a max a year ago I think

I’ve only ever been banned on Yogstation for over 24 hours, I was actually permabanned for metacomming a year ago, and then raiding the armory as a non-antag on lowpop.

Common Staff Situations:
Write a description of what you would do in each of the following situations. Do not write on the same line as the situation - use the space below it or make space as needed. Failure to do this proves your inability to follow instructions and your application will be automatically denied.

1. A player randomly shoots someone at round start and MPs have detained him.
Firstly check player’s notes, and check combat logs. PM player and MP that arrested them. See how many rounds were fired. If it seemed to have just been a misfire and both player’s pms and the Shooter’s notes check out, just a warning to be more careful. If it was grief but was his first instance, day ban, heal all parties if they wish. If they’ve had several examples of this and it appears to be grief, then I’d ban for three days.
2. The ship has a breach to space and a bunch of players have died or are dying as a result.
Depends on what caused it. If it was grief, patch hole, aheal people, check griefer’s notes, ban griefer accordingly. If it was caused by the dropship then I would probably block it off just because it hinders gameplay quite a bit and I’ve seen that it is pretty common practice to patch leaks. If it was a pred’splosion, then I would leave it. I'd probably wall the area off just for the round's well being.
3. You see a player walking around the ship naked and clearly lost.
Mentor team deploy, if no mentors on I would assist.
4. A player is being very rude to you in Adminhelps and requesting to speak to an Admin+ staff member.
I would ask that they would be a little kinder, I do this voluntarily and I would see if an admin+ was online, if there were none and they broke a rule that was worthy of a ban, then I would still apply the ban and link where they can report me if they think I did something wrong.
5. You notice a player with a name that doesn't fit our naming rules. The player is arguing that: They've used the name for several years, no one has told them to change it before, and that they didn't know it was a rule.
Notify him that he will need to change it the following round, if he feels the name is appropriate then he can do a name appeal thing that I’ve seen done in the ban appeals section or report a staff member if he thinks I handled it poorly. Ignorance isn’t an excuse and they should trust my judgement on the name.
6. You see a Maintenance Tech running around in armor and carrying a rifle. The security level is green with no threat present.
IC Issue, I might SM an MP about the MT.
7. You see a Squad Medic performing surgery on the planet. He claims it was because there were no doctors in the FOB.
If a medic can do surgery now, then wouldn’t it be okay with the new skills update? Anyway prior to skills update, tell him to close him up and send him almayer-side. Check player notes and if he has done it several times, job ban.
8. The round is stagnating. There are 30 marines and 4 aliens. The marines won't leave the ship, and the aliens won't attack. What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?
If marines are stronger, would SM the commander to send marines down that they can win soon. If xenos were stronger I would SM the queen and tell them that there was more host to be had on the metal hive and that they should go and spread the hive if an admin couldn’t take care of it.
9. The round ends, a MARINE starts shooting a hostile IRON BEAR and the IRON BEAR Adminhelps complaining he was killed after the round ended.
IC Issue, RP goes on after round end. EORG doesn’t apply to fighting enemy factions such as UPP, CLF, hostile freelancers, or xenos.
10. A marine is running around disarming, punching and stealing gear at round start.
I would SM MPs about this, check player’s notes. If he has a history of being a shitter then I would give him a three hour bannu after PM’ing him and telling him to knock it off.
11. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.
Firstly, I would PM both parties involved, check both player’s notes, and check combat logs. If he was killed just for punching him, then I would apply a ban depending on severity of notes and aheal the other player if they didn’t fire back.
12. An issue arises that requires Admin+ abilities.
Slack ping, all I can do.
13. There are minor racist comments going on IC. 9 of the 10 people are laughing and RPing but one player gets offended and Adminhelps about it.
Ask the players that are making the comments to lighten up a bit. Ask the person who got offended to also lighten up a bit. Its non-malicious, he should just let it go on or just leave ICly.
14. A marine opens fire at round start in briefing killing multiple marines and instantly logs off.
I would ban them for the designated time frame. 3 hours if he has no notes, and just slowly make it go up. Aheal those affected.
15. You see a player playing a xeno larva/chestburster run towards the frontlines and die.
PM the player, if the player has done this before, job ban. If he has a good reason for it (like it being in caves and marines are close to winning so he was pinned between several) then I would just add a note to watch for this behavior in the future.
16. You see a xeno memeing, saying AYYLMAO, REEEEEE etc in hivemind chat.
Check notes, PM player to knock it off. If he continues three hour ban. Add note.
17. A xeno player calls the shuttle a "dropship". A different xeno player complains to you that it's metagaming/failRP to call it a "dropship".
That’s fine, you can do that if that’s what you prefer to call it.
18. A Command staff player at briefing near round-start mentions there are aliens on the planet.
PM the player that they know nothing about the aliens at round start. Get a mentor to assist them unless they’ve had a history for it then command ban if he cannot handle the simple RP requirement here. Add Note.
19. A Marine kills another Marine on the EVAC Pod to take the last spot and claims it was RP as he was saving himself.
I would see if there was a situation that would allow this, IE if xenos were right on his ass, the pod was full, the player was fighting him from it etc. But if there were empty pods and he just ass blasted him for giggles and shits, then I’d likely three hour ban.
20. You see a fellow staff member give wrong information in an Adminhelp or incorrectly enforcing a rule.
Kindly inform the staff member of the correct information or my personal opinion on the rule enforcement.
20a. You see a fellow staff member abusing his powers in-game.
PM Feweh, and their headstaff. Also would also tell the staff member that I think what he’s doing isn’t allowed and I think its abusey.
21. You see a player talking in OOC chat about what he did with your mom last night.
I wouldn't really care and probably wouldnt' notice it but I'd probably joke back.

https://forums.yogstation.net/index.php ... her.12255/ I was just learning the game, and I know that ignorance isn’t an excuse, but I got into the wrong crowd, saw that someone moderately close to my age was posting youtube videos and I thought that was cool. I got into the wrong crowd as one of the three was mildly griefy and taught me similar behaviors. I would like to say that this ban is over a year old and I haven’t had any major issues afterward outside of a few minor notes on CM. If anyone would like to ask me more about it, feel free to state it here or PM me.
-Hours-
My hours may seem a little under what most moderators put, but my parents are split up, and I only have a computer at one of them, so I am unable to get on the server. I’m taking some advanced courses in school aswell, so that takes up some of my time but overall I have a lot to give. So that is my excuse for the hours, and its just an estimate since I am usually pretty bad at perceiving time but I am usually on from like 6-9 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and all day saturday and sunday unless I have projects due.
This is also just my old mod app reposted and slightly edited from the critiques from my last app, I don't want this to seem as lazy, but I thought I did pretty well on the last app and didn't want to completely waste a ton of time on essentially the same answers.
