Common Staff Situations:
Write a description of what you would do in each of the following situations. Do not write on the same line as the situation - use the space below it or make space as needed. Failure to do this proves your inability to follow instructions and your application will be automatically denied.

1. A player randomly shoots someone at round start and MPs have detained him.

Check if the fire was an accident and or effect from a disarm, if it was, simply let the issue resolve itself as an IC problem, if not, heal the person he shot if he didn't fire lethals back,question them both if the scenario was RP'ed and properly escalated,if he has no notes but has no clear intention of being a good player and log off give them a day ban with a heavy note about the issue, if they just did it cause they are new, give him a warning, a link to the rules and a note about the incident, the Mp's have the rest

2. The ship has a breach to space and a bunch of players have died or are dying as a result.

I think this can't happen now, fix the breach, heal wounded if there was any, check if it was acid and or C4 and start checking the notes of said person,if they have previous notes and have been warned about the rules,give them a 3 day ban depending on their notes,if it was first offence just a warning with a link to the rules and a note about it

3. You see a player walking around the ship naked and clearly lost.

If there is a mentor,direct them to them,if there is none and i'm aghosted at this point,i would follow them around and show them the ropes,if they are on a command position (XO,CMP,SO) give them some tips on how to handle the squads and how to use the overwatch console,if they are a marine role,simply the basics of line of fires to try to avoid any FF incidents, an or, if there is an admin on,ask if they want to be sent back to the lobby, telling them to cryo first

4. A player is being very rude to you in Adminhelps and requesting to speak to an Admin+ staff member.

Start checking his notes while telling him to calm down and not disrecpect the staff, if he continues to harras with Ahelps the next round, mute from Ahelps and add a note about hostile/toxic behavior, if the issue continues in the following rounds/days apply a day ban and escalate from there

5. You notice a player with a name that doesn't fit our naming rules. The player is arguing that: They've used the name for several years, no one has told them to change it before, and that they didn't know it was a rule.

Check his notes, maybe his name was allowed by a higher up, if not tell them that ignorance is not an excuse and that he should change it for next round,if he keeps the name the next rounds, issue a 3 hour ban and a note to escalate from there

6. You see a Maintenance Tech running around in armor and carrying a rifle. The security level is green with no threat present.

If its an IC issue such as boarding by a hostile party let it slip, if they are a new player that simply picked up a gun, guide them to a mentor

7. You see a Squad Medic performing surgery on the planet. He claims it was because there were no doctors in the FOB.

I think this can't happen anymore BUT, tell him that the lack of doctors is not an excuse to do surgery's planetside, tell him to seal the marine and send him up, if he continues despite warnings, issue a 3 hour ban about the issue along with a note, if he has no notes, then a warning with a link to the rules

8. The round is stagnating. There are 30 marines and 4 aliens. The marines won't leave the ship, and the aliens won't attack. What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?

Follow the chain and see who the Aco is,tell them about the current problem and encourage them to push along the lines of making one final push/going for all or nothing either via SM or an ARES//high command announcement

9. The round ends, a MARINE starts shooting a hostile IRON BEAR and the IRON BEAR Adminhelps complaining he was killed after the round ended.

Tell him combat betwen antags at round end, such as Marines VS UPP, Clf or a hostile PMC is allowed

10. A marine is running around disarming, punching and stealing gear at round start.

I would add a note about dickish behaviour and or low Rp for future incidents and PM the player, warning him that kind of low RP will not be tolerated and that he should stop, the Mp's can handle the rest, if he continues next round, add a 3-hour ban and escalate from there

11. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.

Check his notes and the logs looking for the escalation (Heated Discusion-Shove-Punch-Knife-Gun), while asking the victim if the situation was rp'ed and or properly escalated, if not, issue a 3 hour ban along with a note about improper escalation, if they have previous notes about the same issues, place a 1 day ban and keep escalating from there

12. An issue arises that requires Admin+ abilities.

Head to slack and get a higher up

13. There are minor racist comments going on IC. 9 of the 10 people are laughing and RPing but one player gets offended and Adminhelps about it.

Tell them minor slurs are allowed, if the issue starts being too intense, i would Aghost and use LOOC to tell them to tone it down

14. A marine opens fire at round start in briefing killing multiple marines and instantly logs off.

Look for his Ckey in the player panel, apply a 3 day ban if they have no notes, if they do apply a 1 day ban, check for possible multikeying and escalate from there, Aheal the wounded and get someone to cryo his body, IF some people start attacking him, LOOC for them to stop as they are giving away their chance of getting healed

15. You see a player playing a xeno larva/chestburster run towards the frontlines and die.

Check their notes, If the queen had strict orders about larvas, apply a 3 hour ban along with a note about the charge, if he has previous notes, add a day 1 ban along with a Jban from Xeno under suicide as a larva

16. You see a xeno memeing, saying AYYLMAO, REEEEEE etc in hivemind chat.

Warn them about the Med Rp and not to use netspeak in the hivemind, add a note about the incident for future scenarios

17. A xeno player calls the shuttle a "dropship". A different xeno player complains to you that it's metagaming/failRP to call it a "dropship".

Tell the player its not a big issue to call it dropship since its a colective hivemind,fluffy terms are nice but optional

18. A Command staff player at briefing near round-start mentions there are aliens on the planet.

Warn him about the issue, if he has previous notes about the same issue, apply a day ban along with a note about the pre deployment meta and a Jban from command positions, if he doesn't, apply a note and warn him not to mention "aliens/xenos" during the briefing

19. A Marine kills another Marine on the EVAC Pod to take the last spot and claims it was RP as he was saving himself.

If the situation was properly escalated and allowed by both parties, leave it as an IC issue, if the person that was killed Ahelps about the issue, and there was a lack of escalation/Rp by both parties, check the notes of the killer, if its first offense simply warn them for future scenarios, if there is notes about similiar incidents apply a 3 day ban

20. You see a fellow staff member give wrong information in an Adminhelp or incorrectly enforcing a rule.

Tell them about it in Mchat and move on

20a. You see a fellow staff member abusing his powers in-game.

Try to get a capture of the issue and get it to a head staff

21. You see a player talking in OOC chat about what he did with your mom last night.

Ignore it,if its something to heavy or explicit,mute them from OOC and warn them,along with a note about staff disrecpect

8 Queen: i'm not gonna lie, you HAVE a hunter killing marines and all, but lets be honest, this is going to drag for 2 or 3 more hours, and if it doesn't end, and you know how admins tend to end this kind of rounds, I'm not asking for a blind death charge, but a final push with all in would be apreciated, thanks

Aco: Ok, we all know it has been a fun round and all, but you know that when the round drags a lot, "things" happen, could you try getting the marines toghether for a push? lets all avoid the round from stalling another 2 hours, thanks and good luck

Okay, let me toss you into a scenario.

You're the only moderator online.
(Pretend like you're a full moderator and have access to the logs, faxes and etc.)

Suddenly, you notice a bunch of marines accessing the attachments vendor on requisitions. When PM'd, he tells you that the aCO which is the XO, gave him access to requisitions.
When you confront the XO in PMs, he says that he didn't know that was a rule.

How do you proceed and how do you solve the situation afterwards?

I would start checking the notes while asking him if he read the rules, if he has previous notes about the issue i would give a day ban along the lines of modifying ID's with extra access

If he has no notes about it, i would warn him to read the rules, pass him the link and note the issue, i would also PM the marine to get his ID back to normal since the ID modification MIGHT lead to him being shot by sentries

Also IF the marine asked for the access, i would note the issue for future scenarios and warn him to stop getting people into trouble, passing him the direct part of the rules about ID modification
