Colonial Marines Character: Recently, Riley Saylor, Draxton 'Yankee' Yukoshima , others before randomly generated - Honestly sometimes it's just fun to set it on 'Always Random'.
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Timezone: CST GMT -6
On average, how many hours are you available per week to moderate? 30-45
Do you have any previous experience in being staff (not just SS13)? Here, as well as other SS13 Server's (AGG's and DS21 - but that's ancient.)
Did you play any of the previous Colonial Marine servers? Of course, I was a CM + Member (you won't get the joke if you're new.)

What are the 3 biggest servers you play on besides CM? None, CM is Life on SS13 now.
Provide links to any previous Colonial Marines applications that you've made: viewtopic.php?t=12402 There was that one Synthetic one that I'm pretty sure got Denied, but I was already a foot out the door and don't have it on hand <3
Are you currently a staff member elsewhere (not just SS13)? If so, where? Nope.
Have you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on Colonial Marines? Nope.
Have you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on ANY server? If so, which server, when, and what for? Probably a long time ago on Paradise for pushing someone out of an Escape-Pod airlock. It's a long-story - but it was quality roleplay.
Are you familiar with the chat program Slack (its use is required)? Of Course.
Common Staff Situations:
Write a description of what you would do in each of the following situations. Do not write on the same line as the situation - use the space below it or make space as needed. Failure to do this proves your inability to follow instructions and your application will be automatically denied.
1. A player randomly shoots someone at round start and MPs have detained him.
Wait for a Bwoink if there's a need to Ahelp it will persist. Common practice for me in the days was just to heal the shot-individual if it was completely random with a baldie Marine with a missfire and let the MP's have their ROLEPLAY. Otherwise, bwoink the Marine who fired their weapon and ask for a sliver of a reason why they decided that was a good idea and note / warn as needed.
2. The ship has a breach to space and a bunch of players have died or are dying as a result.
Patch the breach, that's a no-no. Heal any players who suffered and attempt to locate the individual who caused the breach.
3. You see a player walking around the ship naked and clearly lost.
Urge a Mentor to assist them, otherwise SM them and help them find their nearest able-body mentor or coach them along the way // to look at the Wiki / Guide.
4. A player is being very rude to you in Adminhelps and requesting to speak to an Admin+ staff member.
They can in-time. If an Admin+ is there to take it, they're welcome to - otherwise this is a Volunteer position - i'm going to do what is required of me first and they can complain second. Keep a professional composure, direct them towards the website and don't antagonize them.
5. You notice a player with a name that doesn't fit our naming rules. The player is arguing that: They've used the name for several years, no one has told them to change it before, and that they didn't know it was a rule.
That arguement almost works with any 3-year-old. Let them know that there's a New Sheriff in town and everyone has different bars as far as what violates what and that it needs to be changed - they can make a complaint on the forums and get it resolved there.
6. You see a Maintenance Tech running around in armor and carrying a rifle. The security level is green with no threat present.
Bwoink them and ask if there's a particular reason they're completely neglecting any and all duties. Substitute a Warn / Note and if needed (probably not.) Job-Ban depending on the response. Most of the time when you bwoink them they just log anyways.
7. You see a Squad Medic performing surgery on the planet. He claims it was because there were no doctors in the FOB.
Tell him his factual representation of reality is wonderful but he needs to stop the surgery, close the wound. Note / Warn as needed.
8. The round is stagnating. There are 30 marines and 4 aliens. The marines won't leave the ship, and the aliens won't attack.
What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?
SM either side's Commander / Alien-Momma or use Big-Momma Annoucement for Ayyliens and direct them towards endding the round by attacking or urging them out of hiding.
9. The round ends, a MARINE starts shooting a hostile CLF member and the CLF member Adminhelps complaining he was killed after the round ended.
EORG doesn't apply so tell him it's allowed and to re-read the rules as quickly and as nicely as you can before the round ends.
10. A marine is running around disarming, punching and stealing gear at round start.
If there's any verbal contextually known clues we'll see how far this plays in to his character's persona, if not - we'll bwoink and warn / note as nessicarey if there's absolutely zero roleplay reason or logical reason to steal the gear / randomly start punching. Most of the time it’s a baldie from WW2 Roleplay and doesn't know we don't tolerate the random stealing / trash-level-roleplay at any setting but especially during round-start.
11. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.
Let him know that there's a 'use-of-force' escalation, if a Marine punches you - you punch back, stab - stab back, shoot - shoot back (if not accidental FF.) Warn / Note / Ban as needed and revive the other player as well making sure to let them know that there needs to be a logical-roleplay reason to punch him if there wasn't one.
12. An issue arises that requires Admin+ abilities.
Let emme know that unfortuantely you don't have the ability (TRUST ME 9 TIMES OUTTA 10 I CAN FIND A WAY.) and that you'll be getting someone who can. Contact an Admin+ in-game; if they're not in-game USE SLACK.
13. There are minor racist comments going on IC. 9 of the 10 people are laughing and RPing but one player gets offended and Adminhelps about it.
Put out a blanket statement that just because you're all laughing together doesn't mean that someone isn't getting laughed at and before they dive too deep down the rabbits hole they should knock it off. Politely.
14. A marine opens fire at round start in briefing killing multiple marines and instantly logs off.
Bannaerio and Note, revive all that were effected - put some lure and obsecurive speech in msay.
15. You see a player playing a xeno larva/chestburster run towards the frontlines and die.
Bwoink them. Ask them why they did it. Note and Warn as needed (no job-ban needed YET.)
16. You see a xeno memeing, saying AYYLMAO, REEEEEE etc in hivemind chat.
Bwoink them to knock it off / Warn / Note as needed.
17. A xeno player calls the shuttle a "dropship". A different xeno player complains to you that it's metagaming/failRP to call it a "dropship".
Using English to describe things as a AYYY-Lmao is perfectly fine as contextually they're clues to help newer players understand everything. Let them know it's okay.
18. A Command staff player at briefing near round-start mentions there are aliens on the planet.
Bwoink and ask them how they knew that, then warn / note for Meta as needed.
19. A Marine kills another Marine on the EVAC Pod to take the last spot and claims it was RP as he was saving himself.
This is a slippery slope. I've seen personally it handled many different ways. If there was a bwoink from the Marine that was killed then handle it as Griefing if they really want to push the issue and let the other marine know that there are steps to be taken before shooting someone (first-fight, then draw it out to guns as needed.) Warn / Note as needed.
20. You see a fellow staff member give wrong information in an Adminhelp or incorrectly enforcing a rule.
Let them know in msay first and direct them towards the correct ruling / knowledge, if needbe take it up with someone higher in the chain of command. We want to look united on all fronts as Staff, so it's key we don't argue in front of Players.
20a. You see a fellow staff member abusing his powers in-game.
Report it to a higherup, no need to stir the pot. If it's a present issue that is round-ruining, ask for someone higher in slack to come in and observe (privately of course.)
21. You see a player talking in OOC chat about what he did with your mom last night.
Let him know how funny that is because she was just talking about him. No but seriously just let it go, there's no reason. If he persists just mute him and Bwoink him to knock it off.
Any additional information you'd like to add?
I put this together in a rush-a-bit, I can't talk about what were doing in the round at this particular moment but it's pretty-great. I love all of you, notes are below. I'm an open book. As far as ban times go - Snype or whoever the old Head-Moderator was (I can't remember his name for the life of me.) <IT WAS SLC>gave them to me a long time ago in Slack. I could give you my best guess but i'd rather keep it short (3h, 12h, 24h, 3d, etc.) depending on offense and number of times it's been committed.

^Those were the days.
