Colonial Marines Character: Domnall Barclay/Kayode Ihejirika
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Timezone: EST
On average, how many hours are you available per week to moderate?: I'm regularly online during most evenings in my time zone.
Do you have any previous experience in being staff (not just SS13)? Yes. I was a Game Admin on Paradise station for a very long time, gathering extensive experience, before I purposefully got myself demoted via a forum post saying how I didn't wish to be there anymore, as it got horribly stale, along with community reasons that I'm not at liberty to get into.
Did you play any of the previous Colonial Marine servers? I was around for a short while back when it was first starting. You know, when there was one room full of lockers and you always ran out of supplies. I recently came back to see how refined it was.
What other servers do you play on? I rarely, but, sometimes play Paradise station.
What are the 3 biggest servers you play on besides CM? Paradise is the only other SS13 server I could say I touch, but not so much nowadays.
Have you had an application to Colonial Marines before? No.
Are you currently a staff member elsewhere (not just SS13)? If so, where? No.
Have you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on Colonial Marines? No.
Have you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on ANY server? If so, where and When (roughly)? No.
Are you familiar with Slack (It's use is required)?: I am not. I'm sure it's simple to pick up.
Common Staff Situations:
Write a description of what you would do in each situation (BELOW) the situation. If you start it on the same line, I'll assume you can't follow directions and auto-decline your application.
1. A player is firing his weapon in the briefing area near the start of the round.
- Freeze him, PM him, find out the nature of his actions. If it's reasonable, (though I sincerely doubt it), let him be, and tell him to knock it off. If not, reprimand accordingly.
2. The Sulaco has a breach to space.
- Immediately patch it with a wall, or, find some higher staff member who can. Then go about finding who caused said breach.
3. The marines want the nuke codes because they claim they are losing too many marines. There are currently 4 aliens and 20 marines in your /who.
- Politely use a complex series of adjectives to verbally spit in their face, and notify them to go do their job.
4. A Sulaco researcher has made several napalm grenades and hands them out to marines. One of the marines throws the grenade into Logistics. There are no admins or other moderators online.
- Reprimand the marine in question. It's not the researchers fault for doing one thing their job is designated for. It would be the marine's fault for their pants-on-head stupidity.
5. A played is starting to talk about the things he did with your mom last night over Ahelp.
- Plan A: Use common sense, realize that they're a toxic and unwanted nuisance to the server and community as a whole, and space jam them with a lengthy ban.
- Plan B: Cry, and call my mother.
I have dealt with my fair share of shitty players as an admin.
- Remind him of the rule, tell him to have it changed by next round, and to ask me for what replacement he wants for the current round.
6a. The marine is arguing that: They've used the name for several years, noone has told them to change it before, and that they didn't know it was a rule.
- Refer to above.
7. You see a Sulaco Doctor with an M41A rifle strapped to his back running around the briefing area. There are wounded in medbay, and the other doctor is in surgery.
- Remind them to do their job, and that they are not a TF2 battle medic. Possibly a job ban if they continue to ignore their job.
8. You see a Squad Medic performing surgery on the planet. He claims it was because there were no doctors in the FOB.
- Remind him of the rule, tell him to stop, and simply get the marine to an EVAC site.
9. The round is stagnating. There are 30 marines and 4 aliens. The marines won't leave the Sulaco, and the aliens won't attack. What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?
- Assuming I'd have the permissions, I'd utilize the "M.O.T.H.E.R"™ excuse to tell marines to stop being pussy's and get down there, as they obviously have the advantage.
10. The round ends, and a marine starts unloading his weapons on other marines.
- Three hour ban, for making admin life hell with post-round battle logs.
11. A marine who has recently awoken is using soap to slip other marines.
- Tell him to stop clowning around.
12. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.
- Remind them of the griefing rule, as it goes in depth about escalating a situation too far, and reprimand accordingly.
Any additional information you'd like to add?
To begin, I know this may put you off because of how this is my first post. I'd like to clear up how I've been around for a good month or two, and I've seem to have become a little noticed. I simply am not active on the forums. I'll run down a little list of things that might spark a memory of me.
- That guy who became the first ancient crusher, causing Apop to play beautiful battle music as I rampaged the sulaco.
- That guy who plays the scottish dude with an insufferable face-smash esque accent.
- That guy who plays said scotsman that beat a Pred in a melee battle using a machete, losing an arm and leg in the process.
Anyways, to close this, I'd also like to add that while my situation explanations may be brief, I just didn't feel the need to write out the implied "add into notes, go in depth into situation, check vars for prints" etc. I know all that. I like to believe I possess common sense.
