Description of the incident:Well, I've had, as many admins, and players know, Runup Onem, my 'new' character for over a month and a half, to two months, I believe it was around 1 month, maybe like 14-15 days, not sure at the specifics, so I usually round down to 1 month, and he's a legitimate character, sure, the name if said, can be taken as a joke, it's not vulgar, it's not 'Hugh Janus, or Mike Hunt' As I'm not going to be that immature with things, however the character is legitimate with a legitimate name too, while it's a play on words, it's definitely not breaking this at all, It's not offensive like Hugh Janus, which is why nobody has seemed to get onto me, even when multiple mods and admins noticed such, they didn't bother to confront me, Karmac got on, and in the middle of the round ((There had been two people with rather rude and racist names who had joined, Captain Chloroform, and Tyson Deblacky)) and while I am standing out of the left side of telecomms I get a PM, seemingly in a rather 'faked' nice tone, which came off immediately rude to me, which was

Now, this isn't a joke name, nor seemingly breaking immersion for anyone, in fact, for quite a few people, it's become a slight meme, I've made the character with their own personality, own persona, and developed them over the month and a half I've had them, I told him

He utterly ignored this response, which immediately to be blunt, came off assholish to me, as he didn't even bother to consider what I had told him.

So I simply gave him a word of what I'd expect him to do if he asked me to change Runup Onem

So, he decided to stoop to my level, which got me even more into the arguement that he had now set forwards, engaging me within this.

I simply explained I do have a character ((Natalia 'Ocelot' Chernikov)) and then I have Runup Onem

I then pulled the carson card again, and simply said

Afterwards, I went on explaining myself, in which time he was apparently jumping the gun and already writing out a ban, for the MAX TIME, when it had disrupted nobodies round, I was literally playing in bravo squad, as a smartgunner, due to two runners, a Ravager, and a hunter trying to push the position

After this, I tried to explain to him that it wasn't getting /that/ bad

Reason: Warned about the name rule, used Runnup Onnem as a name, when PM'd about it argued it was fine because they hadn't been spoken to about it before, continued to argue it was fine and said "If others can get away with it than there's no problem with it", considering his note history I feel this is deserved..

What you 'feel' shouldn't be what it is, and personally, I had an admin joke with me about the name, I'd been 'talked' to about it, just not gotten onto at all about it, as it hasn't hurt anyone or offended anyone.

I have played Runup Onem for a month and a half, and he's become generally liked by a decent amount of players, and alot of banter has gone on, changing a name of a character that has been played for so long, and developed so much, would simply be illogical and impractical.


Use a reasonable, lore-friendly character name - Your character must have a unique first and last name. One-word nicknames are allowed inside the name (e.g. Derek 'Double-D' Donahue, Jane 'Crusher' Sanchez) . Ranks, titles, honorifics, offensive, famous and/or pop-culture names are not allowed (e.g. Dr John Smith, Barack Obama, Lt John Doe, Adolf Hitler). Also, avoid lore-based names like Weyland, Yutani, Bishop, Ripley, etc.

Okay, let's go do one thing at a time here.

1. You are currently under investigation for a staff complaint you made like a week ago that is believed to be a false complaint.

2. You were told by a staff member that your name was breaking the rules. You have the right to appeal that name, but you do not have the right to tell the staff member that they are wrong.

3. Your name is literally Run Up On Them. I would have told you the same thing.

4. Bill Carson: I consider myself a movie buff and never noticed it as a reference to the Man with No Name. If a reference is that vague, I'm not going to ask them to change it. I've done the same thing with Mike Murdock. I didn't ask him to change it because I'm one of the few people on the server probably who has read the like 3 issues of Daredevil where Matthew Murdock uses Mike Murdock as an alias/his not blind twin brother. If a reference is that vague it can be let go.

5. Your excuse is "I think other people are breaking the rules and getting away with it, so I get to also." Shit, you're right. The Zodiac got away with killing people, so I'ma go ahead and start doin' some murdering and see what happens.

6. YOU DO NOT ARGUE WITH STAFF. It is directly in the rules. It straight up says if a staff member tells you to do something you fucking do it and bring it to the forums if you disagree.

7. You're not the defendant. You're lodging a complaint which would make you the plaintiff. By being the plaintiff you actually would file a petition which would recommend damages/punishment. (Source: I work in law).

Karmac did nothing wrong, and you are crying about being told to change your name from Run Up On Them to something legitimate. You really need to adjust your attitude, your behavior is getting ridiculous.

Edit: Since Feweh has stated the name is fine, the name is fine, but Karmac broke no protocols, and there is nothing here that warrants a complaint against him.
