What rule(s) were broken: Lethal Force

Description of the incident: The CO had refused to send a beacon during a boarding and then proceeded to shoot the console so I called the CE to repair the console. Once the console was repaired he threatened the CE with his mateba and I told him I would defend the CE, he didn't like this and then shot me to death with his mateba despite me not firing a single shot and without an announcement over the comms channel.

Evidence (screenshots, logs, etc): I do not have logs as this was posted after the round however JayBurns has said he would support this so logs could be obtained from him.

How you would punish the accused: removal from the CO whitelist.

This CO was obviously breaking the rules and was being completely ridiculous, apparently they have a history of stuff like this, god knows how he got white listed, i think he should be removed.

I was half-present for this reporting as a witness:
The XO had been disobeying the CO´s orders and even attempted to kidnap the Liason( Sent a fax to confirm the arrest but never got a reply, even had a witness and fibers), and later on, they were telling the marines what the CO was doing and asking them "What do they want to do" clearly attempting to incite a mutiny, I, the CMP, informed the CO to watch his back and later heard from the XO that they were being shot, the CO declared their execution for, I belive, Attempting a Mutiny.

Firstly the CO didn't even announce it properly, so that is improper execution, Insubordination is not executable and asking "What do they want to do" to marines is not inciting a mutiny. (will get logs when they update)

I had never attempted to kidnap the CL so I don't know where that came from, I informed the crew about the CO's decision to not launch a distress beacon and asked them if they wanted one sent to which a resounding answer of YES was said. At no point did I attempt to start a mutiny and asking that question is in no way valid for an execution.

From the looks of it, it was a battlefield execution. Don't exactly need to announce those unlike a normal execution, so it wasn't improper. From the looks of it the Commander was within his rights. You ordered the CE to repair the console, against the CO's wishes (if I'm understanding this right, and then threatened to fire upon the CO if he fired upon the CE. (Reasonable)

Looks like you were field executed for disobeying orders which is reasonable given the time it took place at. Also, you threatened to shoot at him during a code red+. Good going, you deserved it.

A battlefield execution you say? there was 20 seconds between him shooting me and me saying that during which time he could have clearly tried to discuss what would happen and instead jumped straight to an execution which is way over the top for defending a crewmember.

Yeah, a battlefield execution. You ordered the CE to do something (who doesn't even take orders from you), and threatened to fire upon the CO if he tried to stop the CE. If you try to disobey and fuck with the CO during a really bad situation such as that it's only going to end in pain.

I can't really blame him for his actions, I probably would of killed the XO who went against my orders, threatened to fire if I tried to stop the CE all while on code red+.

Play stupid games and win stupid prizes. I honestly don't think the CO was in the wrong here at all.

So you would execute an XO (who can order theCO CE) who told the CE to repair a console and said he would defend the CE? The CO was also threatening to execute the CE for doing this which should also be considered in this report, that is an entirely unreasonable jump.

The CO is above the XO, i agree that this guy shouldn't be CO, but you're not making a good case.

Right, here's my take on things.

I spawn in roughly 1 hr into the round and it's already a giant clusterfuck, mostly caused by you, mind you. I head to research where I find out that you're trying to get an MP to do all of your bidding by illegally arresting the CL. I brush this off with a heavy verbal warning but tell you and your pet MP to cease all communications between eachother. Obviously, you didn't listen and continued down the same path. Later on, the same MP reported in to myself and the warrant officer (jack knight) that you were planning on building a...torture chamber of sorts for the liaison. At this point, it's gone too far and well, the CMP sends a fax regarding your conduct so we can bring you in.

Later on, xenos board and code red is initiated and we're in the CIC. I tell everyone that we're not calling for evacuation because the threat sensors were too low so we must've been winning. You, decide to interfere with my work by constantly logging in and attempting to call for a distress, against my wishes. I shoot out the console to ensure that you cannot jeopardize my plans of retaking the ship without any outsider help. You then tell the CE to repair the console yet again against my wishes and I order him not to. Of course, he disobeys and I let it be. This is the part where you seem to have gotten it wrong. I threatened YOU, not the CE. You then responded with saying that you'll shoot me.

At this point, I'm having no more of your weird antics, especially that of an XO and decide to field execute you. Threatening to shoot me was just the breaking point. I announce it over general comms that you've been executed instead of the announcement console which was genuinely my mistake.

Honestly, the only thing that was genuinely out of place besides for my failure to make an announcement was the fact that you got ahealed even though it's not my place to question that. That's all I have to say on the matter.

I was the liaison of this round. At the start of the round I wrote up a document for the XO to sign which they denied and took with them. After that I rewrote the document and went to briefing to try to get the XO to sign it once more, also because MP Philby wanted me to fill out a complaint form. Not too long after i got to briefing the XO ordered a different MP to arrest me for insubordination (which ya know, i'm a civilian). Luckily Philby steps up and prevents my arrest. Later after two colonist are brought on board the XO keeps them in a research room so I go to get them out and take them to my office so I can talk to me as they were already cleared by medical, the XO prevented this for several minutes until finally, a different doctor comes and clears them and i walk out of the crowded research wing and take them to my office (i was almost arrested for nothing again when i tried to take the colonist out of the research cells). A long time after all of this the MP that tried to arrest me the few times before comes to my office and admits to me that the XO wanted him to cuff me and drag me to a dark room and then strip me. That's pretty much most of my interaction with XO Prevatt from this round. I hope this helps with something.

I honestly see nothing wrong here. CO's are allowed to perform battlefield executions both within the ruleset and marine law, so Titan was not in the wrong here. Exact law: "They may kill anyone under their command or on their ship without any warning or procedure if they feel they are a threat to the mission. "

You threatened him with lethal force (which is a crime in itself), disobeyed his DIRECT orders, and were generally being extremely disruptive. There was no time to properly process you, either. A field execution was completely warranted here.

Really the only problem I see here is that blyatcomrade got ahealed, from what I gather. Prevatt was executed in a rule abiding way, and ahealing them was out of line completely. If anything, that's what needs investigating.

First of all, we would have to evaluate the commander's motive in destroying the communications console. Since he could not send a distress, I believe that the player being reported had no options other than to simply refuse his crew's requests for a beacon.

The XO disobeyed and threatened the commander with lethal force, which allowed him to carry out the execution. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

About the method of execution he performed, it is allowed. Battlefield Executions do not need an announcement.

What sounds strange is the aheal that was applied to the player who was executed. Because of not being on the server at the time the report occurred, I'm not sure what happened, so I will not accuse or judge.

As one of the biggest critics of battlefield executions, I think this one sounds pretty legit. The XO was obviously threatening the CO's command and ability to operate the mission.

You do however have to make an announcement that the person was executed and why, which is the only failure I see in this execution. I will see who ahealed the person and speak with them.

As XO, if you're undermining the COs orders expect to be executed.

I don't understand why I should be XO banned.

The CL was interfering with the colonist situation, I had ordered them to be quarantined and he continually released them but as he is a civilian the CMP decided it was not suitable to arrest him for insubordination which I heavily disagreed with as it was hampering my attempts to control the situation. Following this the CO arrived and I argued with him about this situation aswell, it was dealt with but I still held a grudge against the CL. After this I went to confront the MP who defended the CL and checked to see if he had received a complete a medical exam of the colonists which he had, I was not aware of this hence why I wanted them to stay in quarantine and from this point on I stopped pestering the CL about the issue. When I arrived at the bridge during the shuttle crash the CO had announced over comms that we would not be using a distress beacon so I asked the crew if they support it being called. The CO responded by destroying the comms console so I called the CE to repair it, the CO then threatened to shoot the CE so I said I would return fire if he shot the CE. At no point did I even fire a round and all I really did was disobey orders and threaten the CO with reasonable response to him threatening the CE.

Like every one has said, that is grounds for a battlefield execution. You would probably be XO banned for being an idiot as one and threatening to murder the CO because you were disobeying his orders and he was threatening you with punishment if you continued.

100 percent, abso-fuckin-lutely. That CE and yourself were undermining the CO's command over the operation directly endangering the mission. you can totally execute for that shit.
