Report Driecg36

Post by DTDuncan » 13 Jun 2018, 14:51

Your Byond Key: DTDuncan

Your Character Name: Michael Cortez

Their Byond key: Driecg36

Approximate time and date of the incident (Central Us Time for best results): 1:30 CST

Which Staff Protocols (viewtopic.php?f=57&t=5647) were broken: 2. and 1. (I know my incident was End of Round grief so I assume banning someone without dropping a message is fine but i'm unsure)

Description of the incident: At the end of the round I tabbed out and tabbed back in, after clicking back into the server I accidentally shot a 3 round burst hitting someone in front of me, I proceeded to apologize saying "I'm sorry" in game to then instantly receive a ban for 3 hours without a message even though I only shot once (Technically 3 times but only clicked once). I understand Staff members aren't omnipotent and can't know everything that's going on and especially with end of round grief it's very difficult to manage, but I would have appreciated a message or at least the staff member looking at the situation for one more than a second to see that I put the gun away walked away and said sorry.

Evidence (screenshots, logs, etc): N/A didn't get a screenshot before I left, hopefully, you can pull the logs.

How you would punish the accused: Warning

EORG is applied without much investigation at all and in no way does it require staff to message the person being banned.

We don't investigate EORG. Misclick or not, we issue instant three hour bans without warning as to not unnecessarily delay the round for other players. This was handled exactly according to protocol.

I guess that would probably be the case, it's just irritating that it wasn't on purpose and boom banned for 3 hours for a missclick. I'm also no sure if theres any point appealing this since it's only 3 hours? I'm guessing the protocol is to just wait it out lol

Bans take over 24 hours usually to process and sort out. It's a rule not to appeal 24hour or less bans.

Yep, I'm afraid so. The best way to not EORG by accident is to holsterdrop your gun, even if you're gonna alt tab.

Ah, I've found the rule where it states ban with no warning, I see this is fine. Thanks for answering me. go ahead and lock or move this thread

If you’re clicking back in game just click on the browser and then it’ll open.
