What rule(s) were broken: Sadly I am unable to specify, it may be made clear by my description, but with it being the middle of the night I cannot personally point you at the rule.

Description of the incident:

Had me, CL, arrested for theft after I picked up a briefcase from a survivor that had been dropped in medbay. I did not attempt to run off with the briefcase, Upon his medical release I asked him to come with me to my office as I presumed the MPs would not approve of a survivor being armed tooth and nail.

The survivor held me at gunpoint and forced me to throw the briefcase over to him, I called the MPs as I did this and the survivor willingly confessed to holding me at gunpoint. The CMP dismissed him to do what he wanted, without searching him, and then charged me with theft and pointed a taser at me. I informed him I would be writing a fax and slowly walked away, he raised his taser so I halted. Upon hearing a beast was apparently in my office he lowered his taser and I ran up the ladder to my office to see. I stood by my personal room door and gawped at the shadow thing in my office. The CMP proceeded to tase me and arrest me. The CE (Awan) rescued me and I began my entire round of evasion.

I ahelped about the situation and was assured it would be dealt with. A resolution was not brought to my attention, good or ill.

That a CMP would arrest me for theft when all allegedly stolen equipment (Much of which belonged to WY as was from the colony) was returned. Worse than that was his willingness to allow a heavily armed survivor walk around the ship and use the dropships at will without being searched. (I know he wasn't searched because I met him less than a minute after he arrived in medbay and remained with him until my race to my office.

How you would punish the accused:
As for a punishment I am uncertain due to the tricky nature of the situation. A warning would be my minimum request or a CMP ban until he re evaluates how things work, especially after failing to uphold protocol of detainment and search post medical and prior free reign.

This is more of a sidenote, I’m not sure what happened to cause it and any clarification would be appreciated. But you and then consequently your MPs attacked the PMC force that arrived in my office. According to a message on your staff report, I was released of all charges, so I would greatly love an explanation on that.

Posting as a witness. I played a MP Phil Donovan the round this happened, and was extensively involved in the events.

As it is described in the complaint. The incident began with the colonist Victor Rennem and the CL. CL took the briefcase of the colonist (being treated in medical) who in turn aimed a HPR at the CL. The CL had no permission from the colonist to take the briefcase. The colonist claimed that they were an independent contractor, an arms marketer, and that they weren't employed by W-Y, therefore making the briefcase not W-Y property if this RP reason was accepted.

MPs, me and the CMP were resolving this conflict in the hangar and the consensus between us was that the colonist had no right to aim at the CL, but, as they were leaving the Almayer to go back planetside, they wouldn't have to neccessarily be arrested. It was also first established that the CL wouldn't be charged with theft (To my understanding). The CMP a moment later in the hangar proceeded to attempt to arrest the CL. The colonist's briefcase was also returned to them at some before the events in the hangar. The CL was arrested in their office after they went to look at the shadow that was there. After the CMP had the CL in cuffs, i began to take them to the brig. During this, the CL demanded to speak with the XO. CMP ordered me to continue taking the CL in the brig after i stopped infront of the XO in the CIC with the cuffed CL. This was a bit of a chaotic situation, delivering the CL in the brig would have allowed this to be settled there, in private, instead of the CIC. As i was transporting the CL to the brig, the CE peppersprayed me and took the CL away from me, which resulted in the CL being wanted and searched for.

The situation was responded to by an admin/or moderator. A fax from USCM High Command came into the office of the CMP, stating that the CL, and the involved personnel should be released and their crimes should be considered not to have existed. The CL was informed of this on command comms, but, it was during a storm of chatter.

I'm the survivor being mentioned.

I dropped by briefcase so I could be put in the autodoc, as I had several head injuries, and asked the CL not to touch my briefcase. Then, he decides to pick it up, and say's he guarding it, after a moment or so, I'm released by the Doctor, and the CL tells me to follow him, and I do, asking for my briefcase back, as it held all of my goods, as I was roleplaying, as mentioned previously, a salesman. The CL refuses, and I take aim with my HPR, demanding my stuff back. The CL calls the MPs, but returns my briefcase, and I go back to the LZ, as I only came up to treat my injuries as they were inhibiting my gameplay. An MP comes over, investigates what's going on, as he should and the CMP wanders by, I tell him that I was returning planetside, so he allows me to keep my weapons and what not. From what I heard, the MP (not cmp) said that we should just cut it even, as both of us commited crimes, but after that I had left on the Alamo and didn't really listen to the story after that.

Overall you most likely need some closure.

The ban was primarily applied due to the disrespect towards staff and less about the CMP's actions - which I believe will be addressed when a Manager looks at this thread.

Resolved - We've already dealt with this case. Often you're not going to be given a direct update on the results of a staff investigation, just know that if someone is looking into it, it's been resolved as cases are never dropped without a good reason.
