Staff report - MOD Mizari

Post by Dolth » 19 Aug 2018, 15:13

Your Byond Key:
Pette

Your Character Name:
Dolthgar 'Fire' Folk

Their Byond key:
Mizari

Approximate time and date of the incident (Central Us Time for best results):
11:30 AM Central Time.

Which Staff Protocols (http://www.colonial-marines.com/viewtop ... =57&t=5647) were broken:
None fits. Basically, issued a wrong warning.

Description of the incident:
► Show Spoiler
Evidence (screenshots, logs, etc):
Two screenshots above, none of the story beside testimonies.

How you would punish the accused:
I don't know how to punish a moderator if he's proven wrong. And in all honesty I don't want him punished.
If he made it that far I doubt it's necessary to go over-board, simply telling what was wrong is enough I suppose.

Alright sorry I've taken a while to reply to this but none the less, here we go. You first of all ahelped regarding the situation which at first was being dealt with IC'ly by MP's but you felt the need to take it further due to the actions of the other players which in question received punishments from myself because they shouldn't have resorted to using a Knife and/or shooting you which I deemed unacceptable. When I questioned yourself regarding this matter, you were not willing to see what you did was wrong, you attempted twice to manually take off an incinerator from another Marine who punched you for trying to do so at which point you Punched him back and threw an ammo box at him, you then saw a weapon that was dropped by another marine who admitted to being apart of this "Train" you mentioned so you ran and tried to hide it from the marine which naturally caused them to chase you, they had a knife in their hand and yes, they did cut slash you once with the knife which resulted in you trying to lock them in the lockers after running around the marines like a prankster. The player who slashed you accepted his part and apologized for the use of the knife and stated to me he should of used the disarm intent but in the heat of the moment used it on you.

Fast forward a few seconds where the other Marine Alberto in question had you cornered, with his weapon drawn, you then decide to try run/move, it doesn't matter but you end up getting shot, healed and arrested. My issue with this, whilst stealing weapons is allowed to an extent, you did this solely for a reaction of other Marines which incited them to act the way they did. You also then ahelped me that you wanted to report the warrant officer for breaking Marine Law yet you never mentioned this again to me so perhaps you forgot. This was all Pre-Drop, round start shenanigans was bad and the situation could of been entirely avoided.

All in all, our conversation lasted 10-20 minutes where you went around in circles with me and your attitude towards staff was pretty appalling to the point you almost received a ban but luckily for you, You then proceeded to point out there was no logic behind my actions which I hope this shows you why I acted to issue you with a warning for breaching rule 3. Your actions alone, caused the disturbance and annoyance of several players and needs to be recorded. This will be my only reply here unless my superiors wish for me to reply again but I wont go around in circles with you again.

Mizari we had this conversation long enough to know none of us will convince the other, although as I wrote in the application, yes. I had a shitty attitude, and I am sorry about that, again as stated above I tend to be quite mouthful, my bad.

Nevertheless, rule 3 implies I had an intention to 'grief', and you described a marine trying to get a flamethrower twice because I wanted one. Low behavior yet fully IC, really. Then stealing the SMG to take it out the Alamo (because the said train was really a pain in the ass, which can also be seen as 'round start shenanigans'). So, no. I disagree with you having this case fall in rule 3 and with all due respect I'd like a higher staff member to confirm whether or not it IS rule 3.

Also, if one of your main reason to issue the warning is 'causing' the whole situation that 'could be avoided'. Then what about Albert who decided to DISEMBARK the Alamo with the firm reason to punch me then to shoot me?
The player decided to miss deployment to punch another marine and create your said problem. While after the slash-bash-bash fight, Zloko and me were shrugging it off. Technically, he is the one who 'caused' the whole situation and made it escalated, not me.

Regarding the CMP, I don't remember exactly why I talked about him. *Shrugs*

Question currently is, were your actions sufficiently disturbing the round flow and/or other players enjoyment of the round

I never ever had the intention to cause grief, nor annoyance to other players, and nevertheless I had a roleplay reason for both, (less for the SMG theft but really it was initially caused by a roleplayless grab-train, guess it works.
Even though, both players and especially Alberto DECIDED to leave the Alamo and CONTINUE the scene while I backed off after the first brawl. The players THEMSELVES decided to continue that shitty brawl, therefor I did NOT enforce the situation that 'disturbed' those two players.

I'm just informing you. Even if griefing was not the intent for you, we have no way to prove it wasn't malicious except by diving into logs and looking at your behavior. If we let every grief that has (what will look for you as) Roleplay reasons intentions, we may have too many holes in our judgement.

This is not directed at you, I'm purely explaining a position that Mizari most likely took, and why rules work how they work.

I'll be jumping to report logdiving today or tomorrow, unless someone else has more time at hand

Just lock the topic, I'll drop the charges, this is going nowhere, really.
MIzari said it that was griefing, I have proven by A+B that wasn't griefing, using the rule definition itself and proving again by A+B the two other players willfuly pursued the scene and themselves brought it further.
Thanks for your time.

This is being resolved. While it's true that stealing a gun at roundstart is classified as an IC issue, this did indeed lead into a larger issue. I'd say that that was half the reasoning for the note itself however, seeing your responses in some of the logs that I've been sent, some responses like these are toeing the line to the moderator in question handling the situation and are the other half of the reason why why you got noted.
ADMIN: PM: Pette/(Dolthgar 'Fire' Folk)->Mizari/(Myles Mueller): Step off the high horse, you're misreading again.
ADMIN: PM: Pette/(Dolthgar 'Fire' Folk)->Mizari/(Myles Mueller): Let me 'Care' to remind you the whole situation

Resolved : No action will be taken. The note will stick as it is justified.
