Player report: griefer, poor escalation and possibly metagame

What rule(s) were broken: Griefing, poor escalation, possibly metagame.

Description of the incident: Long story short, we went down to the colony and made some fortifications on ETA. Some UPP soldiers were around the fob, i started repelling them, they flammed me, and i kept returning fire to them to defend the position. This guy Broden comes out of nowhere, says they are good, i tell him the the UPP is an open enemy of the uscm, he says we are not at war with them, i call him a traitor for attempting to befriend them. i keep shooting at them to keep them outside of our fortifications, the guys gets near me, slashed me like three times with the machete breaking my skull, my characthers goes unconcious, a second later, the UPP soldiers kidnaps me, i ahelp about the incident, while it was being handled i go do something else, because my round is already ruined. I come back Broden is inside the base of the UPP and says something along the lines of "no hard feelings right? bro" i ahelp again to check if the issue was handled, admins says it was, i ask the admin if i can ghost because i didn't want to roleplay with the guy that griefed me and think's it's alright to befriend one of the enemies of the USCM and belives that almost killing someone because such person didn't act the way he wanted is ok, while expecting such person to be "cool" after he bashes his brain in with a machete.

How you would punish the accused: The guy ruined my round and clearly broke several server rules, griefing me, bashing my head with a machete because i was shooting at one of the enemies of the USCM (while they are outside of their territory, in a w-y colony). I think he should be banned for a few days, the guy broke the rules and is a garbage roleplayer on top of that.

I arrived at Research and I saw a UPP soldier staring at us, we hadnt been fighting and they were clearly not being hostile. you being the BIG smart runs out and starts blasting at them and escape back to the barricades.

At that point I'm unsure to just shoot at the UPP or leave to try and save my life but hold and BEHOLD out of the darkness a UPP soldier starts r-o-l-e-p-l-a-y-i-n-g with us (read what that term means )
he is saying he doesnt want to fight and theyre trying to talk with us.

AT THIS POINT MY CHARACTER HAS TWO DECISIONS!

1 Start an all out war with the UPP because we are in a cold war with them? risking MILLIONS of people!
2 Try to talk with them and perhaps ease down and try and roleplay and see if we can resolve this peacefully.

I chose option 2, i walked out with my hands up trying to ease them they started saying they just wanted to talk or something amongst the lines and it was fine but WHAT! JAKE BURKETT SCREAMS; DEATH TO THE UPP!!!! and bursts out the fucking BARRICADES like the koolaid man shooting at the UPP, now I have two OPTIONS again!

1 stay and get shot at because of DELTARD?
2 Try to calm down the situation by knocking out Jake.

I unfortunantly apparantly chose option 2! shouldve just shot at the UPP scum which were our biggest enemies and trying to kill all of us obviously!~
