Mercy killing by Zephos Bunker. [Lucifers son player report]

Approximate time and date of the incident (Central US Time for fastest results):1:20 pm in central europe and 5:20 in america, I believe.

What rule(s) were broken: rule 14.

Description of the incident: Corporal Zephos Suggested we hold south of the REQ corridor, with a few cades. Mid constructions, some aliens rush us and I attempt to pull my smartgun but I am spat down by a spitter. The two aliens come in and start slashing at me while Zephos does nothing but to look at the whole thing for a while, before pulling his flamethrower and shooting a straight line right into my face, setting me on fire. He did not attempt to pull me away, he did not attempt to call for help and he certainly did not attempt to at least get the aliens away in any other way. He even said that he thought I was dead anyways so setting me on fire was a mercy.

How you would punish the accused: The least you can do is a warning and some guiding on how flamethrowers work. But I think he deserves a temporary ban for it.

Well I don't think I really need to pull logs for this as its pretty clear in the evidence screenshot supplied.

yea a large oversimplification of it.
Me and him where houlding south req, and I had 2 layers of barricades on the side where he was. He was spat down, the barricades slashed and he was spat down again. I wasn't 'doing nothing' I was getting the flamethrower out and figuring out how to fire it. While he was being slashed by 2 xenos, one a spitter, I attempted to flame both of them. It didn't work, I only got 1 but they both ran off. I then dragged him behind the second layer of barricades, put him out, and gave him my only first aid pen while attempting to do CPR. More xenos showed up and I had to fight them off, by that point I saw him as a lost cause and I was injured myself.
(edit: sorry if it wasn't clear, when I flamed the 2 xenos slashing him I caught him in it. They ran off because one was on fire)
I didn't 'call for help' because I didn't even think the comms where on, or if they where calling for help wouldn't of done anything the ship just crashed landed. People have their own problems and it would've delayed it even more.

Overal, that was about 1/6th of our OOC conversation. He was saying it's not being alive that's important it's having fun, the 'HAVING FUN *DEAD*' comment was me trying to tell him it's hard to have fun, while dead. Not taunting him or whatever. It wasn't a 'mercy kill' I tried to save his life afterwards, as well as there where admins on at the time, quite a few, and he didn't report it? This was at around 90 pop so I don't really see why he's gone and made a player report about it when he could've just a-helped me. The round ended about 8 minutes after he died so he had plenty of time

It is true what he said about the conversation not being just what I screenshoted, however, I screenshoted the logs in which he said it, in a hasty attempt to not lose it. You may pull the logs if you wish to see the rest. Also, I doubt a 216 post player would be so new that they have no idea how to use a flamethrower, not to mention that it took quite a while until you even dragged me back, because the other alien attacked you (he did not fled as Lucifer claims and in my last seconds I pulled my revolver and attempted to help you. All I managed is shot once at the lurker before falling to the floor dead. You then took your sweet time to extinguish me with your hands (why don't you have an extinguisher if your only weapon is a flame thrower anyways?) Afterwards he stole my revolver and belt and used it most the 8 minutes which were left. All in all, you either did a terrible job trying to even remotely help me or you didn't even bother at all and just did all of that in an attempt to not get a-helped.

By figuring out I meant unique actioning the flame starter, dropping the thing in my hand, wielding it then trying (and failing evidently) to shoot around you.
I'm not familar with it as I mainly play xeno or engineer,(with me playing on CM being only 3 times a weekish) and neither of them carry flamethrowers often.(I'm looking at you ravager) It wasn't my only weapon, I also had a shotgun that I couldn't find but was hidden under a barricade and then later your body. No extinguisher because I had the flame thrower for only a few minutes and my main focus was building fortifications, with me very rarely using that weapon at all in the first place.
'stole' your revolver belt, you where dead and it was the only weapon I could see that wasn't a flamethrower. I'd use literally anything else barring a knife. Even an M4A3
I only looked at the player report hours afterwards so I apologise if I can't remember every detail in with an ediectic memory considering I played 2 games after that.
If you think I killed you for your revolver or something, you where a smartgunner and 2 people are better than 1? It just seems weird logic. I had no reason to kill you, we had not interacted until that moment, I kinda wanted to live, and you stood at the front of a 2 layer barricade with a spitter and lurker nearby when the only backup the person behind you had in easy reach was a flamethrower.

I don't see why you're angry, friendly fire is part of the game, while it sucks to be shot, this does in no way mean that it was intentional. All in all, one big IC issue, no idea why you'd make a PR instead of a-helping this. If you're not going to bother a-helping, then don't bother with a report.
