Byron Faser: Terrible Commanding Officer

Post by Juninho77 » 07 May 2015, 23:46

Your Byond Key:
Juninho77

Your character name:
Sheet Curity

Their character name:
Byron Fraser.

Approximate time and date of the incident:
07 March, 2015.
Around 10 PM UTC -4.

What rule(s) were broken:
We have a rule for incompetent marines, but not for incompetent commanders, so It's not exactly on the rules; However, my round was ruined by the extreme incompetence of the CO.

Description of the incident:
It is late, I want to go to bed, so I am resuming this:
I was in Delta. Delta's squad leader is arrested before briefing (This is important).
We get orders to secure engineering and sweep security. We went to engineering and set up the singularity. We then decided to regroup with alpha, who was in bridge. On our way to bridge, we find out that they have a nest in medbay, and we decided to engage. In the middle of the firefight, the queen screeched, I got knocked down and dragged into the nest. I got up and tried to run back, but a facehugger got me. Well, long story short, I badassed my way out of the nest and into the nearest shuttle. When I arrived back on Sulaco, I get tased. The first thing I hear when I'm up again is:

Marshall Harrison says, "Got a delta. But he needs to be examined."

Well, it turns out that my retarded commander has decided that all deltas must be arrested for some imaginary insubordination. After having a baby xeno removed from my belly, I proceed to spend the next 20 minutes in brig because... The commander said so. Well, what the CO did not realize was that, while he certainly was shouting frantically on marine command channel, our squad leader had been arrested. He was not passing the information to us, and none of us had access to command radio channel, so we proceeded on our own.

Honestly, a commander that orders the arrest of a marine that should've gotten a purple heart is a piece of shit. But it gets better: He decided that, because we weren't answering to a radio channel which we didn't have access to, we were attempting a coup. And he decided to get us all executed. That's when he was arrested by a MP, and this is the pleasant conversation they had :

Byron Fraser [Command] [Alpha Squad] says, "MP's are confirmed rogue.. return to base and restore power."
Tanya 'Aegis' Edenia [Sulaco] says, "No don't listen to him"
Tanya 'Aegis' Edenia [Sulaco] says, "He ordered the murder of all Delta"
Tanya 'Aegis' Edenia [Sulaco] says, "The commander has lost it"
Tanya 'Aegis' Edenia [Sulaco] says, "He ordered the murder of over 10 soldiers"
Marshall Harrison [Sulaco] says, " I just arrested the Commander."
Marshall Harrison [Sulaco] says, " Sheet, as a victim of his tyranny, choose his fate." [To which I didn't reply]

When I finally was released, all my squad had died.

Honestly, when you have insubordination as a criminal offence in the marine law, you cannot afford to have this kind of person commanding.

How you would punish the accused:
One week ban from command jobs.
Image
"Do not go gentle into that good night; rage, rage against the dying of the light."
If you would permaban a player, you owe it to him to look into his logs and hear his side of the story. And if you cannot bear to do that, then perhaps the player does not deserve to be banned.

I've talked to you about the screenshotting stuff .... Would be instantly preferable if you could just get the screenshots of the incidents of incompetence here and not .... *sigh* the entire round ...

If the execution part is true however he is likely going to be removed from commander

Noted. I will see if I can find anything in OUR logs and see what happened. Also yes. Get screenshots of the round and the incident not logs.... Thats something we will handle.

I have done some talking around and this has been resolved. I will PM you with it. They do anything like this again they will be permanently banned from all command staff positions.
