Alpha test, Rules Broken - Fullstripping and Slashing infected.

Post by Kovain1812 » 10 Jul 2015, 14:09

Your Byond Key: Kovain1812

Your character name: John 'Mac' McLuskie

Their character name: Runner 943

Their Byond key (optional - if you know it): unknown

Approximate time and date of the incident (Central US Time for fastest results): 19:00 GMT
What rule(s) were broken: Full stipped me in the nest, and tried to argue with other aliens when they told him to stop. [ Also saw he slashed me in the nest ]

Description of the incident: so i got tackled by the runner in question, went down and dropped my gun, within 1 second he had stripped me of my armor, belt ect which im ok with (although the speed at which it was done could be considered meta as they shouldnt know what half my gear was at that point) but i digress
I was devoured and carried to the nest, when nested Runner 943 proceeded to Full strip me and then when the other aliens told him not to he said "thats a stupid Rule"

Evidence (screenshots, logs, etc): Image

How you would punish the accused: Alien job ban/ Server ban - duration to the admins discretion.

If you would permaban a player, you owe it to him to look into his logs and hear his side of the story. And if you cannot bear to do that, then perhaps the player does not deserve to be banned.

I did indeed ahelp it, the admins responded OOC saying no fullstrips but at this point the damage was done - im not the type to report people, but with this instance - it stated clearly when i logged in that you should have read the rules and be clear on them before you play - the reaction Runner 943 gave, showed he obviously had not read the rules.

Hmm... Speaking of rules, the full stripping rule has been removed.

just re read them and yeah it looks that way, but there is proof he has slashed infected which is still in the rules and states :

"No harming or killing marines - Do not slash marines in Harm Intent even once. Use Disarm Intent to stun/tackle them. A single slash can kill a marine - they can bleed out from it. You just lost a potential new Xeno, which is the opposite of the Queen's initial goal. Expect your fate to be tied to your victim's.
Exceptions:
The Queen can override this rule and allow permission for all Xenos to kill. (Queens: Ahelp when you do this and let the Admins know!)
The Queen may kill whomever she wants for whatever reason at any time.
Ravagers can automatically kill UNINFECTED hosts without Queen permission, unless the Queen specifically tells them not to.
When there is no Queen, a Xeno may use lethal force if it is needed to survive."

I dont think any of those exceptions where in effect at the time this incident occurred.

I hate talking down here... but wasn't the only reason the full stripping rule was removed.. because we implemented code on the current version to make you unable to full strip...

Which then makes this a bug report instead of a player report.
As for the slashing, I will take a look at the logs as soon as they're available to me (which is tomorrow), unless SAS beats me to it.

This is a player report! although he may have been using something that was bugged, he showed no regard for the rules when told to stop.
he also has broken the rule i posted which states not to slash a marine EVEN ONCE.
i dont usually get like this but it was completely out of order and the LOOC reaction he had to his action being questioned by other aliens, showed that this player is either very new and doesnt know how to play properly or is just disregarding the rules.

The reason the fullstripping rule was removed was because it was impossible to take off jumpsuits, headsets and stuff.

And as I was afraid, there are no logs available from alpha.

Ultimately, this will be up to SAS, but I don't think we'll be handing a ban based on a single slash that could well be accidental. As for stripping... Well, let's hope it's fixed for the next alpha test.

Yeah.... There is not much we can really do about this as we don't have logs of the alpha server. And the single slash COULD have been accidental. Stripping will hopefully be fixed soon but there is not much we can do here. This will be moved in approximately 24 hours
