He's not being very rude to you. He's giving you criticism on your work. Maybe it'd be better if you were a bit nicer- Maybe if you showed him you were nice and had the potential, he'd help out, and after you two were done, you'd have a nice predator app he could +1, along with some others.

EDIT: Just a suggestion. Don't have to use it.

Really not that hostile?

Try being more professional with the way you hand out your advice seeing how you are a staff member of CM Felkvir.

1. I swear all the fucking time, if you take it as aggression then that is your issue.

2. All of that isn't sarcasm. I mean, maybe you're interpreting the way i write down stuff in a different manner or something. But that's not my fault.

3. You are being overly sensitive now. Yet again, this is not my issue.

Just because i swear over the internet, which mind you a whole lot of other fucking people do on a daily basis, doesn't mean i'm trying to be hostile.

You're not making any sense. By rule i'm going to assume you mean an admin protocol.. None of which i broke. You literally just listed section 1 and 2 but not what within it so i'm not sure what you're implying i broke.

Section 2 - Code of Conduct:

1. Remain Professional, no matter what happens.

Therefore Section 2-1 sorry if you couldn't understand what I meant.

This is an account just to post on this thread. I've known Felkvir for a long time. Nothing he said in that first post was meant to be taken as aggressive whatsoever. You seemed to get worked up because someone was critiquing you and putting in their own /OPINIONS/

I don't see anywhere where Felkvir was being intentionally hostile or provocative to you in this thread. If you cannot handle criticism, you sure shouldn't be able to whitelist for anything special here. Mature a little and then make a whitelist for Yautja.

I hate these kind of people.

TL;DR, Felkvir wasn't rude or unprofessional here.

This is a community, not "the internet". You hold a very important role within that community, remaining professional is part of the responsibility you hold with that role. It's clearly stated. I can assure you swearing all the time and not giving a care in the world about whether or not you offend people is not professional in anyway. And quote:

This is a community, ON the internet. So yes... It's still the fucking internet and a part of it. This website does not separate itself from the internet. I fully recognize the role i hold here within the community however, and if you think a bit of swearing somehow hinders my ability to uphold it then you need to seriously open up your eyes.

I agree that most of what Felkvir said was meant as constructive criticism and so most of the quotes you've posted of him have little to no weight, but this one line is absolutely rude and unprofessional. You just don't say that.

Also, Felkvir: in perception is reality. If someone thinks you're being offensive, you are. It doesn't matter if you intended it or not.

Also two: Is "swearing all the fucking time" A.) Professional, or B.) Unprofessional?

+1

There is being offensive, and then there is calling someone offensive with no real grounds to it. For what it is, that one line may have been rude and you can call me that as much as you want but it's making a big deal out of something that can easily be rectified or ignored. If someone goes out of their way to BE offended by something as trivial as swearing used to emphasize things then it becomes their problem.

To answer your question, swearing within the context of using it in a non-overly aggressive manner is not unprofessional ... I tend to largely avoid it many times though regardless because i recognize that there are people who will care less for it.

What is that +1 for exactly?

I wish this were true, believe me. I wish I could say anything with the intention of joking and people hearing it would know that I'm joking 100% of the time. Unfortunately, that's not how life works. Offense is taken, not given. You can control what you say, but you can't control what other people think or feel about it. Their sensitivity and/or susceptibility to be offended is completely out of your control and irrelevant as an argument in your favor. That's why we need to be careful with what we say and how we speak to our players because any one of them at any time could take offense to anything. Hence, Staff Code of Conduct #1.

The +1 means that, while your first post seemed professional and constructive, you still ended up saying some unprofessional things, thereby breaking Code of Conduct #1. Therefore, I agree with this report.

SAS has already mentioned that the report is pretty useless, and spoke to me about all of this as an added note. I will not quote what he said.. However

I want you to realize that, i'm not breaking the code of conduct. I triggered someones perception of breaking it. I have already admitted to being a bit rude, which is a rare occurence but it would not lend me as critically offensive as i'm being described here at all. Far from it. And you are exactly right, when you say that i can control what i say but i can't control what others think or feel about it. However, this is a game community/internet forum... Not real life. What i said here was never meant to be offensive, but i suppose like you said it only became offensive when this person perceived it as such. They took it out of hand on their own accord.

I'm actually fairly offended myself, because i do not enjoy people lying about me. (i.e. the insulting and stuff, i never did or meant to insult him or anyone else) I believe i have mentioned this before. The fact that you say that ANY one of them could take offense to ANYTHING at any time is a serious issue, but you can't force staff to adapt to certain individuals.. We're here to help. And i offered my criticism in this case, but i cannot offer help if a certain person perceives my intent as something else than what it truly is. The friends i have can attest to my honesty... If you don't believe me then fine. If your mind is dead set on something then it will likely stay that way. Just know that i find your agreement here to make very little sense, as a fellow staffmember and member of the community ... :L

Being slightly rude is not me suddenly becoming unprofessional, no.

In the same section paragraph, i found this written "I understand, due to the nation of the internet that there is a degree of Saltiness (I know I'm FAIRLY SALTY) and I understand that." Reading the entire thing over, i understand that we're supposed to keep COMPOSURE and try to avoid >excessive< swearing. I could have easily avoided that TINY thing there..

Then again you could have just told me instantly over skype or something. Just comes to show what overreacting can bring, to be honest.

I will say, swearing isn't against the code of conduct so long as it's not excessive. I'm probably one of the biggest offenders of swearing...

So if swearing is unprofessinal, does that mean Gordon Ramsay and apophis are not professionals?

Gordon Ramsay swears because he's Scottish and pretty awesome cook. While Apophis is a host of a favorite server on BYOND and is well respected for doing somthing different then just a regular RP server on BYOND, he went Marine style. These people live two completely different lives.
