Murderboning Monkeys

Post by SpessMarine » 07 Jun 2016, 23:01

Your Byond Key: OhMyJeebus

Your Character Name: Jack Visol

Accused Byond Key(if known): Multiple, could not confirm.

Character Name: Cannot confirm.

Approximate time and date of the incident (Central US Time for fastest results): Cannot remember, was over the past few days.

What rule(s) were broken: Metagaming

Description of the incident: I was part of a (Delta? not sure) squad that was sent north to secure an FOB at Medical and Hydro Domes. While we were setting up I noticed some marines suddenly pulling monkeys into the hydro dome. When I questioned why this was happening in squad chat, one of the squad members said it was "their monkey army". Only a few minutes later, the SL gave the order to execute all of them. The reason? They were a combat hazard.

The monkeys that THEY pulled in for no legitimate reason were deemed combat hazards, and shot or stabbed for no good reason. As a player for both marines and xenos, this pisses me off a great deal and I wish I reported this earlier. It's some bad metagaming to try to kill off the monkeys, when you ultimately know the xenos need those monkeys to increase their numbers.

Evidence (screenshots, logs, etc): Regrettably I did not grab a screenshot of any sort. It may be in logs; I specifically remember at least one person saying they were a "combat hazard".

How you would punish the accused: Seeing as there are no specific names I can remember, I would give a stern warning to everyone, and possibly ban them if they intentionally bring a monkey into the base just to kill them off.

I was there, one of the people who followed my squad leader's orders and killed some monkeys. I did not know who was the chucklefuck that pulled the monkeys there, but that mass of those things, made it pretty hard, if we were to hold hydro, as they would often get into the way, as well as the firing line.

In my opinion, the squad leader who gave the order did nothing wrong, the one who should be punished, was the lad who pulled the apes there.

I did some digging around in the logs but couldn't come up with any reference to "combat hazard" or any sign of you discussing it. The problem with this report is the lack of evidence and names of the people involved.

The term ''Combat hazard'' was used several times, both in team chat, as well as the local one. I don't remember the names, nor do I remember the squad that I was in (Possibly delta though)

Considering lack of evidence and information for this (also the fact that this incident is small as shit and at most could constitute meta-gameing) no punishment will be handed out to anyone rather a small reminder will be made to the server about killing monkeys without knowing what they are.

The only mentions of combat hazerd about monkeys involve the marines pulling monkeys into hydro and the monkeys becoming an operational issue.
