I wouldn't call this meta gaming.If you were in a room with a worm and knew where it came from and you have NO weapons what would you do? i'd sure as hell punch it hoping for it to die. Just my 2 cents

Xenos cant evolve at all if damaged
I think whats being said is, the researcher captured a larva, and sligthly damaged it since he knew it couldnt evolve and kill him that way
