Cargo Bay: Corpses for Cash/Point Bounties
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Cargo bay exchanges Xenu, uninhabited human corpses that were once possessed by a player (gotta ship them off for proper burial) and no longer are (possessed bodies cannot be sent), and most valuable of all, Yatuja corpses, for supply points.
Living survivors can also be shipped off for significant point bonuses.
Living Yatuja and Xenus (however you manage that) provide triple the points of their corpse equivalents.
Inspired by a fun admin intervention whereby WY exchanged xenu corpses brought to Cargo for supplies: http://i.imgur.com/oWoUmNm.png?1
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Creates strong incentives for corpse retrieval/esprit de corps, even after cloning is removed (you just know Marines are not going to give a shit about the bodies of their fellows except as loot piles).
Xenu corpse retrieval will be emphasized in particular due to the potential to obtain significant quantities of supply points.
Incentivizes marines to extract survivors alive and do search and rescue as they were meant to.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Cargo bay is rewarded with a cargo point allowance/bounty for each human (must have been inhabited/possessed at one point), Xenu and Yatuja corpse loaded onto the supply shuttle after it disembarks from the Sulaco in the same way it gets points for crates and stamped manifests.
Higher tier, higher upgrade Xenu bodies result in more points. Yatuja corpses provide huge point bounties. Ghostless human bodies once controlled by a player provide a small point bonus (roughly equal to a crate with a stamped manifest).
Living Yatuja and Xenus (however you manage that) provide triple the points of their corpse equivalents; they are effectively removed from the game upon being successfully shipped out, informed of their gruesome fate far worse than death at the hands of WY researchers.
Live survivors may be shipped off for large point bonuses (successfully evacuated) whereupon their body is removed from the game. The controlling player then is returned to the lobby and gets to join the USMC/Xenus as per usual.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
Coding.

I don't think the whole sending alive survivors is a smart idea, i think if the marines recover a survivor, the command can be entitled to get more supply points or maybe a W-Y Supply Drop?
Then marines will REALLY want to actually do their job eh?

Re: Cargo Bay: Corpses for Cash/Point Bounties
The idea is you get rewarded for recovering survivors alive; I suppose you could 'register' them somehow once they're on the Sulaco and get a cargo point reward for it if you're not down with the idea of sending them off in a supply shuttle.Bigchilly wrote:I don't think the whole sending alive survivors is a smart idea, i think if the marines recover a survivor, the command can be entitled to get more supply points or maybe a W-Y Supply Drop?

Could be flavoured however one pleases; essentially there is some counterparty, USMC, WY, legit or otherwise, willing to front you some nice credit in exchange for shipping out your dead, your survivors, and your alium specimens.MrJJJ wrote:For some reason i thought of this when i read only the title: *Oh, Black Market"

I like this idea, it's going to be funny to see someone try to get a live Yautja

Yeah, they might at least _try_ as opposed to going full murderbone ASAP. I especially like the fact that marines will actually give a shit about making sure survivors get out of dodge alive.Lacp wrote:I like this idea, it's going to be funny to see someone try to get a live Yautja

If we have this it would be neat to go whole-hog and be able to sell them to the USCM, WY or a Black Market and have some benefit to each. Perhaps BM changes it for various BM crates, WY send their special gear like HE40s and such, and USCM give raw points?

Honestly, after the failure of the research update, it would be nice to have more incentive to bring up alien samples.
Although I don't know why you'd want to pay someone to send you dead marines for burial. We have a morgue for a reason, after all.. That, and the IRL implications would be really dark.

Re: Cargo Bay: Corpses for Cash/Point Bounties
Like Renomaki said, after the BIG fail of research part 1 update, we really should be able to send the xeno bodies away.
I still waiting for the day that Containement will have a small cage to transport xenos, and exchange for points
If we get a decent Containment room, the Research could just keep going to the planetside, get huggers with the crates, infect monkeys, get some larvae and send via cargo to make profit

On May 17, 2016, a group of farmers dug up the diary of an ear of corn named Watson. Here are his entries.
Day 76:
They took Lawrence, dear god Lawrence... They ripped him off the stalk and smeared him in butter, just like Tyler and Jodie. They shipped him off to the popcorn factory...
I wonder what his wife will say.
Day 120: My brother says the VEGANS are protesting for more anti-meat bullshit. They want more of us to die. FUCKING HEATHENS.
Day 153: The ants are eating me from the inside out. They are popping out my kernels and taking them back to the nest. I feel them moving inside me. Julia says the pesticides will end our misery.
Day 300: Sweet Release. I can hear the planes flying over now. They are dropping the gas, it feels so good, sweet release-

Re: Cargo Bay: Corpses for Cash/Point Bounties
Honestly I like that there are two destinations for bodies as it adds another layer of skill to the game: macro level resource management with interesting choices and opportunity costs.
Definitely agree that the prizes for Xeno corpses should be improved though to make bioprinted stuff worthwhile.

Re: Cargo Bay: Corpses for Cash/Point Bounties
This would require a fair bit of a rework, and we are already looking at doing a new rework to Cargo.

Re: Cargo Bay: Corpses for Cash/Point Bounties
Worth it though; I love that it adds more resource management to the game for Command and Req, plus makes specimen retrieval and the actual safeguarding/retrieval of the colonists important in mechanical terms that people will respond to.

Denied.
You are receiving supplies from a local outpost, why would they pay for corpses and people? They aren't slavers or anything.
