Self sucking vendors

Post by mullvad » 12 Dec 2016, 08:21

Long and high-pop rounds often result in the marine armory looking like this

I would suggest adding the vendors onto the process() loop, and having then look in their range(1,src) for loose items that fit in the vendor, and then sucking them up.
This would make the floors less cluttered and my OCD much happier.

....Wouldn't this mean that the second you vended something, it would be instantly sucked up?

Obviously not, since the sucking-up-of-items would be on a slight delay, and to resolve that you'd just stuff the vended item into the hand of the player.

The poor MT who has to clean up the mess of 13 vender loads at the end of the shift must have achey little arms.

+1 for self sucking

This could work with the vendors being modified with a proximity sensor + timer assembly attached to the power wire, but otherwise, this'd just make it pain to get the ammo needed. -1
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

I am John "Buckshot" Rhodes, the Tactical Snowflake Hunter

Decent idea, but putting anything into the process loop will just lag the game, considering there are a ton of vendors everywhere. Maybe if we get a better master controller, then this would be more feasible, but definitely not at the moment. There's also the point of this being rather strange, and odd to implement (what if you vent a few things and it just sucks them up as you're putting it on?). Denied for now.
