CN-20 Nerve Gas
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): CN-20 Nerve gas is a potent submission gas utilized by the colonial marines. As it isn't known what the effect of it is on xenomorphs, think it'd be a neat thing to add in for us.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): new lore friendly type of grenade/bomb for differant types of strategies.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Maybe making it slow down xenos and marines caught in the gas. Heck, you could even have research be able to produce a more effective version of it with xeno parts.
It's similar to riot control gas in it's use, as far as I know.
"Alright, we got seven canisters of CN-20. I say we roll them in there and nerve gas the whole fucking nest."

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): a mash of coding, I guess. I'm not sure how chemicals affect xenos, or if they even do anymore.

According to the wiki, it causes the breakdown of the neurotransmitters that signal muscles to contract.Jroinc1 wrote:It's nerve gas. It's supposed to be an instant kill on humans... maybe a QC gas grenade... heh.

It isn't actually lethal unless you recieve extended and repeated exposure.
And itll only kill you by making you go comatose and causing suffication.

Xenos don't metabolize chems, but they are affected by acids. Maybe this could be a thing

On May 17, 2016, a group of farmers dug up the diary of an ear of corn named Watson. Here are his entries.
Day 76:
They took Lawrence, dear god Lawrence... They ripped him off the stalk and smeared him in butter, just like Tyler and Jodie. They shipped him off to the popcorn factory...
I wonder what his wife will say.
Day 120: My brother says the VEGANS are protesting for more anti-meat bullshit. They want more of us to die. FUCKING HEATHENS.
Day 153: The ants are eating me from the inside out. They are popping out my kernels and taking them back to the nest. I feel them moving inside me. Julia says the pesticides will end our misery.
Day 300: Sweet Release. I can hear the planes flying over now. They are dropping the gas, it feels so good, sweet release-

Re: CN-20 Nerve Gas
Here's how nerve gas works:
Basically you have organophosphates, which are essential to all life, that block specific enzymes that are a catalyst for the breakdown of certain neurotransmitters that cause muscles to retract, thus muscles can never relax and are clenched tight. The usual COD is complete respitory failure due to loss of control of the lungs. Basically the nerve agent forms a covalent bond with the neurotransmitter, effectively trapping them in a loop.
Now, whether or not this affects xenos is above me, and ultimately up to the devs, because I don't know how this would correspond to xeno lore.

That's how nerve gas works, there are many variants, but all are very deadly.RadiantFlash wrote:According to the wiki, it causes the breakdown of the neurotransmitters that signal muscles to contract.

It's on my list of things to extort from the coders. To be fair, it's near the bottom of the list, but it's on there.

Not seeing a reason to add this at the moment. Maybe in the future. Denied for now.
