Hull windows airlocks

Post by Sarah_U. » 03 Jan 2017, 23:41

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Add emergency airlocks on all hull windows of the Sullaco.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Add a safety net around the ship.
QoL improvement.
Quite nice, we all love nice things.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Examples of this method can be seen in observation deck. Simply replicate the process for starboard maint and other areas that don't have it yet.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
[N/A]
CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

-1, it's purpose is to stop plasma fires. Plasma fire will break the glass venting all of the gas into space, stopping the fire.

You have blast doors for a reason, Noah.

I asked apop the same thing in discord, this was his response. Also those do not stop the plasma fires, just cause them to burn out, windows ends it pretty darn quick.

Yea, but even thou I understand where you're coming from, I'd rather have 1-2 locations like starboard maint fully protected from breach (Not the engine though) as plasma fire will almost never occur and in the case(s) it could occur, most often it'll be slowed down and die down to said airlocks.

PS: If your fire is strong enough to break the airlocks, it'll break the external airlock anyway, and even then it could be made MUCH LESS resistant just so it breaks when temperatures rise too much or similar ideas.
