New Objekt: Pallet Jacks

Post by KingKire » 21 Jan 2017, 16:36

Summary:
Add pallet jacks to Requisitions to move crates quickly.

Image
Benefits:
Scince pulling has been restricted for marines, which works like real life, the addition of an object to move other heavy objects would be much appreciated.

Details:
Works like a combination of a cargo tug and a wheel chair. Drag a heavy item onto the pallet jack (like a cargo tug), and then grip the handles (by dragging the pallet jack to your sprite) and move the objekt around (like a wheel chair). To unload the object, ungrip the handle, and drag off the object. allows quick movement of heavy crates.

But why not use the ripley?

The ripley is like a forklift, you use it in conjugation with the pallet jack. The ripley is slow, but carrys alot of cargo so you bring it out when you need to move alot of stuff to someplace close. The pallet jack is used for carrying the singular crate long distances. Hand carrying is for moving alot of gear around very short distances.

(Please +1 this, cargo will love you long time)

But seriously, does uh, anyone know the way out?!

This is both a good and possible easy idea to implement. +1

neutral, leaning towards +1, whats the point in it? quick moving of crates, but to where? because if a SL needs a crate they drop their beacon, its gets delivered to them.
i can see a point in lowpop, for example, when no command so you have to manually run the crates from the dropships, but other than that, im not seeing it.

Dragging one crate to marine prep or the pod/Rasp takes longer than packing the crate. This would help.

+1, would be nice if it could be used to move any containers though. Including coffins, but not bodybags.
CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

Denied.

Most of the time the crates aren't moved farther than the requisition orbital drop pads for this to be warranted.
