You do know the USCM has a hand welder http://avp.wikia.com/wiki/ME3_Hand_Welder If anything it should be named to that.

I mean, sure, but you could also just call it a welding tool, as that's what it does. If you wanna be fancy, you could call it an oxy-acetylene torch and have it run off a mix of phoron and O2, but I like our magic welders as they are.
