Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Add in Young Bloods to the predator application process as a trial period.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Allows those predator applicants who aren't well known but seem sincere/have a good application to prove themselves in game.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Bear with me, here.
Firstly, if a Predator application/the applicant seems to be of sufficient quality but cannot be trusted in the full, very powerful Predator role, instead of a denial they are advanced to a trial Young Blood phase. (Perhaps this could be for all accepted applications, this is at discretion of the staff obviously).
After being accepted as a Young Blood, they are allowed to spawn in as a predator with several caveats:
-Can only be online with a full blooded predator and must announce their going online over a Yautja channel or to an admin or whatever. I'm not sure if they have one of those, but I'm guessing probably.
-Is only allowed access to melee weapons with lower damage and no plasma caster. They can still have cloaking devices and the wrist bracer, theoretically, but are given no completely game-breaking equipment. Taking a plasma caster or non-authorized weapon is an instant denial.
-A much stricter emphasis on the honor code. Young Bloods are *always* on thin ice.
-The blooded predator reports on the young blood's RP skills to the Elder Predators & Senior Staff. With enough good reports, they can ascend to full status. Preferably, robustness only matters as much as it does to a regular pred.
-Can be skipped wholly on the discretion of staff. Predator is a privilege offered by the server, and if the staff decide that a player doesn't need this stage, so be it.
-LLA did something similar to this for their very rigorous Perseus process. While it sounds complicated, it actually ran quite smoothly and resulted in a better whitelist since the whitelisted had a mentor & they could filter out whoever slipped through the cracks.
-MOST IMPORTANT: At least one predator player MUST be willing to sponsor the applicant so they aren't left in the cold as a young blood.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): A bit of manipulation of current Predator code, taking the same sprite of the better weapons, sectioning them off, and tweaking damage values. A rule implementation.
Mostly, I'd like to see what the predator players and staff think of this. It could allow for a better idea of who a player is, since the application process is only who they are on paper and who they are in-game is only seen if they're lucky enough to get the attention of someone willing to post on their app.
