Printable Helmets
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Make the generic helmet, as in, the one needed to built a securitron, printable from the autolathe.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Free head protection (keep reading before you +1,Marine Wankers), less strain on cargo (absolute lies), xenos still have a reason to resort combat.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Per summary. Allow helmets to be printed from autolathes for 30,000 metal and 500 glass. These helmets offer are only available through a hacked autolathe. The helmets themselves have reduced damage reduction, as in, a ravager slash will more than likely kill you. Have fun.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Coding I guess

You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Re: Printable Helmets
I suppose its better then nothing? But don't really see much point, unless you want to build a securitron.
If you have to hack it, most folks with access to autolathes can just hack open prep and grab a helmet that way instead I believe.

Eh. In HG and Tribes, head protection is a huge advantage, plus there are moments I have to get the point across in the cleanest, non-chemical way possible.Boredone wrote:I suppose its better then nothing? But don't really see much point, unless you want to build a securitron.

-1, you could just pickup your old, broken helmet with the same defense values, - the hugger protection.
Or yell at the RO to somehow get one.

Re: Printable Helmets
Only benefit I see here is allowing Security bots to be built. If non-combative crew want head protection they usually bother the marines for helmets or take one off a dead person.

A waste of metal and time.
Troublesome, as usual.

You would have to set up power, get metal for an autolathe, hack said autolathe to get a helmet that doesn't offer hugger protection. For HG, replace angry xenos with angry people that want to murder you.Crab_Spider wrote:and are only available through a hacked autolathe.

Edited for you whiny bitches. Removed the clause about no hugger protection, and made it generic.

Still standing by that -1. That metal is often better served for fortifications.

Re: Printable Helmets
Okay lets tone it down a bit folks, I think the main point that Crab_Spider is trying to make for this suggestion is being able to make helmets in the Tribes or Hunger games, game modes. Although being able to print helmets is rather pointless in the main game. Outside of that, its a pretty decent suggestion since getting good head protection is rather hard to come by.
Still, the requirements to construct a helmet seem off/overly complicated, but I assume this is for the sake of balance. I'll let Crab or the Dev's be the judge of how to approach that.

Waste of metal, and there's roughly 240 helmets of the M10 variety in the vendors already.
Edit: As for Tribes, Feweh is the Dungeon-Master and as such he is the source of all the equipment that is in the round.

Re: Printable Helmets
Most helmets no longer protect against huggers so this is not a needed change. Denied.
