Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): When in paincrit, you can press "resist" that starts a countdown, much like when trying to break out of a nest, where every tick you have a chance to be able to gather your strength and get up. You can only stand for a few seconds, and you move very slowly, but after said time is up, you fall over and pass out a decent amount of time due to exhaustion.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): This would prevent people from being permanently stuck in "paincrit hell," where they can neither recover or die. The few seconds would either allow someone to go out in a blaz of glory, or move those few extra steps to safety. This would also add some cool RP moments, where a dying marine gathers all his strength to help his buddies escape, or to run to an escape pod.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):The marine presses resist while in paincrit, and it starts a process much like breaking out of a nest. Every tick the marine has a random chance of "gathering their strength," where they can press resist again to stand up for a short amount of time before passing out.

EDIT: Still, depending on your injuries, it could possibly cause them to worsen though, kinda like how your wounds worsen from being pulled. (perhaps the code from that can be recycled in a way)

from a dev perspective, its probably not worth the effort for what it can accomplish for the marines. Considering all the other stuff they have to work on that is.

Very little usefulness, would create lots of code pitfalls and tricky situation to handle. Not worth the coding effort to be honest.

That's a shame. I think it would create a lot of fun RP moments, and vastly improve the round of anyone who has the chance to use it, just by making them have some control over their death (or a chance of having some control).

I don't know enough about coding to dispute you, but wouldn't it just be the same code as breaking out of a nest, in essence?
